Thank you Quadro , beautiful!!!
Are these from the second flight ? And are they taken at the same airfield in Komsomolosk-na-Amur , or are they in Zhukovsky , coz i see some churches in the background! ( which begs the question , is this another bird than the T-50-1?)
Ignorance??? i dont wanna argue with anyone like one can see in other threads about RCS and all that …
I merely expressed my opinion based on what i’ve read in a zillion places ( which makes it thats much difficult to sort out the bloody truth!) and i admitted i might be wrong offcourse…
Actually the whole point of my post was to actually find some answers about this damn MLA , and not to be insulted… what the point of this kind of forum if not spreading information ?
I admit i dont know everything about Mig-23s and so on …but i’m pretty sure neither do you.
The book is wrong . Germans got their MLs sooner , Gordon is right this time.
I’m surprised it didnt jumped in your eyes the non-standard LERX antennas and the different tail RWR configuration of 19 red at Monino, wish i’d be able to travel there. That not a baseline ML config…but again ,i might be wrong.
Any news ? did it flew again today ? Quadro? anyone?
I have seen guys talking on a german forum back and forth about the same subject , and the shocking conclusion was that a Mig-23MLA is what the Bulgarians,Lybians and Syrians had! ( Mig-23MLD export?) there is only one pic i managed to find of such a machine in russian markings, identified as you all know by the different RWR antennas on the tail and the extra dielectric panel near the wing LERX root, for the same RWR system( SPO-15LE)
However, i think( i might be wrong offcourse) that this particular machine is the prototype for the …lets call it Export MLD for now( with aditional RWR fairings on LERX, but no MLD aerodinamic modifications), since it has the number 19 red. Too much to be just a coincidence…
Me personally i’m still not fully sure of what the heck is a MLA yet… ( oh and that book is wrong , i have it too , GDR didnt got their MLs in 1985…its sooner -gotta check again )
Anyway the 19 red link…
Please show it for all to see.
I think he is talking about this …( see encircled area)
Have you guys seen this ? Aparently Gates fired the F-35 programme chief …
Slight correction …its 23-12 or such and such , not 32-12
Erwinhans, do you have more info ? Like what is your friend saying about the differences between a MLA and a ML…and how many MLs were built before MLAs?
I have seen pics of german MLs with R-24 missiles…from what i’ve read over time the P introduced among others improved radar that can fire the R-24 and the MLA has the same modifications , but for VVS , and aparently whitout the tell-tale identification marks of the P from a ML…
The questions is are those german MLs actually MLAs? i have seen german MLs with both R-23 and R-24 ,i have seen cuban MLs( or are they MLAs?) with R-24 so frankly, i have no bloody idea whats going on …:p
( PS: the Mig-23P has a different antenna configuration on the tail, AND two flush antennas on the intakes sides…actully for those of you who have Y.Gordon’s Mig-23 book , look at the first or second pic inside , the ML flightline …those are Ps!)
Does anyone knows if it flew as planned again today ?(as i saw posted here few days ago …)
Must be evening time in Russia by now i guess…
Nah, YF-23 was even prettier..
Its all a matter of taste…i’m a big sucker for russian birds…american stuff ? meh …:p
Ah, been wondering the same thing.:)
We can see on this vid when the AB on those Su-35S 117 kicks in at 0:33
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saF0P0eEyWE&feature=relatedHere is the Pak-Fa takeoff at 0:27
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saF0P0eEyWE&feature=relatedIt does not empage the same amount of heat, nor does it sounds like it use AB.
But i could be mistaken.Thanks
Thanks for your reply.
A little thing, your second link is the same as first one …:p
…also , maby its me , i’ve watched the first flight videos dousins of times , am i wrong or the T-50 pilot DIND’T used afterburner for take off ?
Yeah i agree, i spent some times on different forums the last two days.
I find it frustrating that so many people go;
Reminds me of YF-23, or a mix of YF-23 & F-22..
Other; a dressed up flanker..
On http://www.F-16.net they claim its a bad copy of YF-23:rolleyes:If one spend a few minutes lookin over this Pak-Fa, it a new bird all together.
Even if you see it in straight frontal view.Well i like both YF-23 and F-22A, but it easy to see this jet is Russian made.
It got the Sukhoi touch and lines all over. Thanks
Say what they want , IMHO thats the most beautiful airplane i ever saw …and i didnt invented the saying ” it flies as it looks “…pilots did 🙂
Can i ask a question to the more informed peoples here ?
I see many talking about the relatively un-stealthy back end and nozzles…I wonder if adopting a design for the nozzles similar to that of the F-35, angled or cerrated ( hope thats the word…) would help significantly ? and is such a solution going to affect much the thrust of the engines?
Here’s the F-35 nozzle…
Two diferent PAK-FA?

Thats what peoples say on paralay …the one flying today is T-50-1 while the one shown on the ground is presumably the T-50(KNS)…
RE: Otaku’s comparison pic…by that standard, one can say the F-35 is nothing more than a “stealthyzized” Yak-41…but that would be blasphemy innit? :p
Anyway , again , man what a bird, gorgeous , MEAN looking, RUSSIAN , even the mud guard is there! Watched most of the day anything vid or pics i could find…still didnt had enough of it ! Wonderful job Ivan…
I was thinking that actually with this new Russian bird in the game ,this is good news for Lockheed and F-22! I bet they are not going to stop the F-22 production now…think of it , the argument will be that its the only american fighter that can effectively opose the Su-50 which most likely will find as much spread the Su-30 family. And not just USAF needs more F-22, but also US allies , imo the door is open for F-22 exports …
So in an ironic way the T-50 is good news for F-22! But who am i to speak let the experts do it …:D
Back to the Su…is there by any chance info about when the other two prototypes will fly , what is the schedule of the program ? Thank you.
…and again , GREAT JOB IVAN!
