A cool, level-headed judgment says that Russian hands are far from being clean, though. Russians are directly responsible for stiring up the pot after Maidan which lead to escalation to civil war..
And that idea with unmarked troops and soldiers having deceased on exercises is, frankly, pathetic. Vlad has completely lost his face in that regard..

Indeed there are things that puts the russians not exactly in the best of lights to say the least (though i would always be wary of the sources for any alleged “details” regarding russian involvement in Ukraine, some of it might be true but more often that not it’s lies and exagerations serving the US agenda) but the basic facts being this: the US and their cronies sought to extend their sphere of influence to Russia’s borders through whatever means (ukrainian traitours and far right fascist groups in this instance), with the ultimate objective of undermining and threatening the very russian state, what can the russians do? If they stay put, be “nice” and do nothing, they would find themselves in no time with a hostile gang of US troops and ABMs (to counter “Iran” mind you) right at their borders- can still happen in whatever is left of Ukraine btw- and with a springboard to ferment civic unrest and ultimately collapse Belarus and other russian allies then Russia itself. Syria, Lybia, Iraq and many other places show clearly what this US-spread “democracy and freedom” means- death, destruction, millions of innocent peoples killed. Can one doubt that it is not the same treatment they have in store for Russia and it’s 140 million peoples?! It would be the ultimate prize for them.

If this topic will be closed, just wanted to express my respect for those of you with a cool, level-headed judgment who have the patience to counter with logic and reason and FACTS the continuous vociferous babbling of the zombified russophobes or US apologists around here. Good to a have folks like you around.

If what you say it’s true about DASH, it must be the all too present monetary reasons, same for lack of a BVR missile, the Elta radar is paired with the Derby missile so having the Lancer carry say 2 Derby and 2 Magics would make it into a nasty PDI even today. As far as i know, at the moment only Lancer-C and B are flying, no more than 20 in total, all the Lancer-A have been retired, a waste given the money spent on them. Actually i always thought that for the same budget they should have upgraded all possible with EL/M-2032 radar, rather that have those 71 with just a rangefinder. I don’t know how much is the radar contributing to the upgrade costs, it would have been much less that 110 upgraded airframes in total, but if say they had 60 Lancers with radars and BVR missiles and 15 two-seaters, perhaps it would have been a better choice imo (at least tactically), though probably they would still fly just 20 today. At least they would have had more airframes to spread the hours around.

As it is they bought BOTH Python-3 (not even Python-4) and Magic-2, it only serves to increase the maintenance burden. But i don’t expect the despicable thieves in the government to take any rational decisions…

As for the air to ground mission, it still have MiG-21s short range and comparatively small payload, but at least it would be quite accurate with what it can fire or drop (cannon, rockets, unguided or guided bombs to a maximum of 500kg each).

    Nice pictures Sergey.

Something very interesting (for me at least); I see pictures of a VMF Su-24M, as far as i knew the Gvardeyskoye unit (which i thought it’s the only VMF unit flying Su-24s?) only has legacy Su-24 and Su-24MR (not Ms), is that M belonging to this unit or another one? Not only that but i see a MiG-31 in VMF colours! So is there some serious shake up of VMF Air, are they getting back former units?

I saw Rii’s post before being removed by the mods. I’ll say i hope he is right, however at present and on topic, me i’m awaiting any day now news that the US and their cronies started attacks against the syrian government and military, following some alleged “provocation” (like SAMs shooting accidentally or not at the “liberating” US aircraft or something like that) from the syrian armed forces. They didn’t managed to start their intended war back after the alleged chemical attacks, now they have the prefect excuse to put aircraft over Syria.

It is also dejecting that these GCC puppets, who ARE by all intents and purposes responsible for arming and training these very same jihadists whom they allegedly fight against now, are participating in attacks on syrian soil. An offense to the 120,000 dead syrian civilians and soldiers, perhaps it was intended that way. If there is any real intention to fight ISIS then me thinks bombing should start from KSA or Qatar or other GCC puppets, but that’s not going to happen is it.

On strictly military terms, imo you know what Syria and Iraq needs from US in order to eliminate these jihadists? They don’t need the US’s aircraft overhead, they don’t need their troops, they don’t need even any non-lethal support, all they need is them to order their GCC cronies to stop financing and funneling the jihadists in Iraq and Syria and other places. All the syrians will need then is just the stuff they had ordered from Russia like MiGs and Yaks, a few tens of attacks helos and some UAVs, a moderate number of armoured vehicles, and spare parts for existing stocks. Once cut from their supplies and a sponsors, the ISIS will be eliminated in 3 months. Same in Iraq. But again, this will not happen is it? The syrian and iraqi peoples are facing years more of war and death, as stated by the US and aligned officials themselves.

One thing forgot in all this is the recently NATO “liberated” Libya. The situation there is as i understand it as bad as in Syria or northern Iraq, the country is partitioned by all kinds of jihadist militias (allegedly, supported from the outside), it is an incubator for jihadists, it descended into anarchy and chaos, and whatever government left is crying for help. But they are mysteriously ignored, only Algeria and Egypt are trying to do something there. I guess this is “democracy” at work. 😡

The Northwoods material has apparently been lifted entirely from James Bamford’s book ‘Body of Secrets’, which I read soon after it was published. My own copy is inaccessible at the moment, so I have no way of checking their version against Bamford’s text to establish if it is correct and has not been selective.

My opinion of the site in question was shaped not by the Northwoods material, but by many of the other topics ranging from such old favourites as TWA800, Waco, JFK, and Obama’s birth certificate. The site opposes the concepts of global warming and the big bang theory of cosmology. There is also a persistent anti-Israeli and anti-business attitude.

You couldn’t have done anything to pre-empt it. Posting links to a site like that is asking to be mocked.

It’s opposed to evidence & reason – and the MMR vaccine. It’s at least partly financed by crank ads, some of them dangerous, such as the one for “a non-toxic over the counter anti-microbial” which is claimed to give immunity to Ebola. It has a story headlined “Jewish Neocons responsible for 9/11”.

Do you wish to associate yourself with such people?

Gents, i’ll just try one more time to receive an answer from you (if you care to of course) to the question that you seems to steadfastly avoid. You keep talking about that website and what is written on it (i didn’t even read it, don’t need to- not that, like other level headed members said, it isn’t possible that sometimes even the wildest “conspiracy” theories might be proven to be accurate) but please clarify, are you claiming that the SCANNED PAGES and the information therein presented are fake or not?

Oh and imo, this has everything to do with MH17, because these discussions serve to examine the history and antecedents (and hence credibility) of the local and geopolitical actors involved.

How can anyone seriously take the contents of a website called ‘whatreallyhappended’ as evidence of anything? Typing the name of the site into a search engine will produce hits related to a bizzare list of conspiracy theories.

Was expecting that kind of reply, should have spent more time to “preempt” it. Point is, i saw those SCANS somewhere a while ago (actually just the pages related to the airliner false flag plan from 1962 or whatever), but couldn’t recall where. So i googled it, and posted the first link. Are you claiming that the scans, and what it is written there, are fake? Did you read the scanned pages? Have you posted the above AFTER reading the scans? Thanks.

Similar to the WMD in Iraq ? To the danger that Assad posed for the west in Syria while he is now the only one fighting the ISIS ? How about the stability that toppling Gadafi would bring to Libya ?

This is not a personal comment, more of a generic -state of the world right now comment-

I trust noone. There are no trustworthy sources this day and age. Most are suspicious of pushing an agenda. The reader has to form their own mind using and filtering as much as possible.

Indeed. Just a reminder to a certain “population” here to what the US military and political establishment was capable of devising to suit their objectives during the early sixties (JFK and cuban crisis times), this based on their own declassified files. Do you think they are better or worse than that today? I would bet all my money on WORSE.

    http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/northwoods.html

    like way beyond reasonable doubt

The fact that proof beyond reasonable doubt is not made accessible to the general public and/or is not admitted by the rumoured perpetrators does not automatically means that a crime has not been committed. A criminal getting away with hiding or blaming someone else for a crime is still a criminal except he hasn’t been caught yet. Agree?

Of course, there is the issue that crime (“political” or not) has to be proven first, but in the political climate and geopolitical confrontation of today, can one except impartiality and honesty?

A sort of sad parallel can be drawn between the geopolitical confrontation in Ukraine today as seen and presented in the so called “western” world, which confrontation resulted in the MH17’s shoot down and 300 dead, and the US courts bias against african-american ethnics from a few decades ago- which more often than not went something along the lines “the black man surely did it, no way the respectable white folk would ever do something like this”. In my opinion, in this case, the “african-american” role is played by the russians and novorussians.

Simply a case of sloopy translation (to english) as i understand it from chinese forumists. The original statement never said pilots died specifically during J-15 testing. It might refer to a J-11BS accident from few years back when indeed 2 pilots were killed.

    Some corruption?

Oh lordy lord. It is all pervading. In government and civil society.

I am guessing you do not read Russian, so here something that has some decent details on the sort of things going on in Russia:
    http://www.putin-itogi.ru/putin-corruption-an-independent-white-paper/

Try doing business in Russia, you will quickly find out just how “hardly unique” the corruption is.

Independent my backside, i wouldn’t be surprised if those “independent” reporters would be proven to have nefarious links with foreign obscure interests. Wanna bet?

Something like China? So we can Google “Chechnya” and get nice photos of the rebuilt city, not a single image of what took place there?

You do realize Google is a US corporation right?

You like your government telling you what to think so much, please go live in China, or preferably North Korea.

Comparing Russia and China to North Korea shows how much your mind has been indeed poisoned by the american propaganda- you said yourself you live or lived there or whatever. Fortunately though, there are not many russians that have been zombified like yourself, no disrespect.

Speaking of living, you yourself also said in another place you’d prefer to be latvian or estonian or whatever (can’t remember what exactly, but you know), so how about YOU go and live there, and stop pretending to be a russian “patriot”. I would swap place with you ANY day friend, and you know why? Because Russia and the russian people, with good and bad like it always is, is still in charge of it’s own destiny, Putin didn’t sold it to the americans like most of the european governments did with us here (and like Yeltsin did), we are not in charge of our destiny anymore here, Washington is. Why don’t we have a strong leader like Putin to look after OUR interests, and not sell us to the american hegemonic interests for a few dollars and a few more years in the seat? I’m sure apart from other considerents there is a burning gealousy from various characters here towards Russia and Putin for just that.

The only thing the Kremlin wants do to is zombify its populace so they don’t get totally fed up and prosecute or hang the thieves running the country. Because that is the first thing that would happen if power was turned upside down in Russia.
And no, this does not equate to believing teh American propaganda machine.

Oh but it is i’m afraid, every ounce of it. What is your idea of “change”, having some sellout in charge that does everything Washington tells him, and preferably be a springboard for hostile action against China, isn’t this “alliance” your dream? You do realize that apparently the Washington’s master plan in regards to Russia is to split it in about 10 small and easy to control little countries, preferably in conflict with each other? Is that what you want for it? Hell if i was the russian authorities, i wouldn’t let someone with your mentality enter Russia anymore.

EDIT: Did you just suggest the Soldier’s Mothers Committees should be jailed? You Putin nut. Do you have any idea of the kind of good work they did in the 90s and 2000s? During the Chechen wars especially?
Their claims re. Ukraine are questionable, but that does not erase the things they have done for conscripts over the past 25 years.

Did they? We can clearly see they are “sponsored” by Washington, which means they (or whoever is in charge there) are just agents manipulating russian public opinion under the guise of charity, and serving their interests. Or are you perhaps wanting us to believe that suddenly Washington became very caring for russian servicemen?

If there is one thing that annoys me more than some ignorant foreigner talking **** about my country, is some ignorant foreigner praising the Kremlin.

It is actually sad that a foreigner has to stand by your own country and government in the face of foreign aggression while you as a russian are not.

Why am i not surprised, that “organization” is in dire need of a courtesy visit from FSB tbh. Maybe Putin should offer them a long “excursion” to Siberia, they earned it…

Also the fact that TV news is very much along one, Kremlin determined line.

Good, i would say they should go much further, something like China does, having their own internet network and aggressively censoring the american propaganda machine from zombifying the citizens into turning against their own country.
