Hey sport , why don’t you spare us the trouble and stop talking about something you pretty much have no idea on, let the PAK-FA talking to the folks who actually know a thing or two about it, will you ? If you don’t even know what engine PAK-FA is using now, and you come here to post some articles from F-16.net (?)and other unreliable sources, why do you bother? Just read , you might learn something. Meanwhile, go cheerlead your “wonderful” LM and do your nationalistic crap somewhere else, thanks.

A thread made by and for your stereotypical China hate-mongers, judging by some replies here… Anyway, if this deal will be pursued i’m looking forward to it, China will get a valuable boost to it’s defence capabilities until the indigenous 5th gens start coming in numbers, while the russian aeronautical industry gets a welcome boost through such an order. Everybody wins (except the China/Russia haters of course).

Oh and i’m pretty sure the chinese-russian military technology relationship it’s much more honest and pragmatic than what some hate mongers portray it to be (the copy stuff and other uninformed rubbish). Strangely, i don’t think i’ve heard any “copying ” complaints from any relevant russian officials, can anyone prove me wrong?

Speaking of saudi F-15s, does anyone know if the first saudi F-15SA had it’s first flight yet, and are there more pics of it ? Thanks.

    …PW F100-229A (with 165KN!)…

Where did you got that thrust figure from ? The figure (for 232 btw, 229A renamed) is 145KN.

Yeah, they killed far more civillians that serbian soldiers. They started destroying the civilian infrastructure (bridges, power plants etc.) in a deliberate manner to “kneel” the serbians. They only got a handful of tanks and APCs and some SAMs. Most of them survived, and shot at the americans &co until the last day of the war.

Is that the first time we’ve seen an external pylon on T50 ???

…. or did I miss the memo ???

    Ken

Well, there was a picture of 053 from i think couple of months back (or more ?) showing these same pylons.

Btw, does anyone knows what is the status of 054? Did it started flying from LII yet? I have read “something” about 054 and 051 on paralay.com few days ago , but the translation didn’t made any sense…perhaps they flew together, or something like that?

So i’m reading they’ve apparently passed a defence budget of 17 billion $. At first sight it’s an impressive figure , but some say mostly it’s for personnel. What are we talking about here, on what personnel are they going to spend most of that money on?

Not only that, look closer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok i give up, what else? I can see the two small antennas under the wingtips like the indian UPG, but i can’t notice anything else. (oh and the GLITs badge)

OMG, I never would have guessed that a Block 1A F-35A would have restrictions placed upon it due to flight testing not being done.

On the engine issue, keep in mind that these are initial training flights and 52 hours by 4-6 hours a week is one change every 2-3 monthsโ€ฆ..

That’s it, just a one liner? Where is the usual half page of “facts” and figures to “show” that actually everything is absolutely fine with the bestest and the goodest aircraft evah made, from the bestest and goodest and most fairest and corruptionless company evah! Come on general, gotta work a bit harder to earn that Lockh…that paycheck eh ? :D:D:D

The premise of the thread is wrong,

Actually, not really, since the topic of this thread is a hypothetical one, it’s up to the participants to imagine scenarios that lead to the what-if in question, isn’t that how it works?

In fact, the premise of this topic is not even out of the realm of reality, you could say the invasion of Kuwait and subsequent war with the americans &co, stemmed from a roughly similar scenario as the 1967 war. You could say the cassus belli was that the iraqis claimed historical rights over Kuwait and decided to invade because (insert your reason here- like they felt threatened by surrounding states or whatever ), but then they misinterpreted the US reaction etc etc.

Anyway, imo the bottom line is a better trained, better equipped and better lead iraqi military in 1991, ignoring any other considerents ( political etc.) would probably launch a preemptive strike against the saudis and the eventual US&co buildup, with some rather interesting results at least as far as the air combat side is concerned. (for further details, see “Iraqi fighter aces of the Great Gulf War” :D)
