Because it is simply completely unnecessary and would prove more a distraction than anything else.

I have provided more than ample evidence for each point I have made. If I rattled off a resume all that would do is provoke the usual cries of disbelief or ever increasing demands for proof.

    Give it a try.:)

Go look up what AoA means…

After that you can start worrying about who is or isn’t clueless.

Why aren’t you kind to answer to my question about your credentials ?:)

but it nonetheless exists and I don’t like to see the clueless types here spewing misinformation.

Hmm…may i respectfully ask for your credential for claiming such? Do you work in the F-35 programme by any chance ?:)

mack8, 360 deg AoA is geometrically impossible.

Doesn’t seem that impossible when you see a Flanker doing those crazy back-flips.:)

Care to enlighten us how is the F-35 going to use this “magical” and “astonishing” 50 degrees AOA in a real world scenario? 🙂

50 degrees AOA? Meh, Su-35 can do 360. And probably the same for PAK-FA.:)

Don’t forget those F-135 ion-drive repulsor. Cause its clearly not use the aft nozzle.

Ah the renown american ingenuity …one small problem unfortunately , the thing only burns large packets of $100 bills ( and is rather thirsty at that) , wont work on anything else…

Where are the new MiGs going ? Akhtubinsk? Haven’t seen ( presumably) MiG-29M 741 in quite a while. 🙂

The Su-35S has still to perform any weapons release testing yet, or has it? It’s already done over 4 years of testing and 650 flights (as of August).

I think that’s what they’re doing in Akhtubinsk (most if not all Su-35s are there). I believe they started live-weapons trials of Su-35S earlier this year. Hopefully our russian friends can fill us more.:)

Actually , i could swear i’ve seen a pic of a FC-1 model at this Zhuhai fare showing what seemed to be a LDP pod on the right (?), but i can’t remember where i saw it…

T-50 and J-31 are an almost perfect hi-lo 5th gen mix for anyone wishing to counter / not be subjected to US political control, imo.

To be honest , my fantasy wish is to have a Chinese-Russian joint venture on J-31, sort of like Yak-130/M-346 (and L-15?). 😮

I’ve actually read a bit on this AETD engine on the net as i was intrigued . My understanding is whatever the final product will be , it will be available in the 2020s. Even so the US air force site says it’s not intended for F-35, but for new gen fighters and bombers.

Even if all goes according to plan, it’s still along way until the F-35 will actually get something like the variable cycle engine talked about here ( 2020s give or take). This new engine should have 10% more thrust for 25% less SFC in the same size as F-135, according to some articles i read.

Anyway, the thing is not even out of testing and modifying and haven’t even reached any kind of IOC yet , so talking about new engine now is rather pointless.

    Bye.

I appreciate a history lesson on occasion, and think there should be
another sub-forum at missiles & naval aviation like ‘political spinoff & rant thread’
where stuff like this is transferred

    Well, i agree to that.
