However his words have been confirmed by recent events, and in France you can’t count all the comments about how Syria is slaughtering poor innocents, there are even tv ads that mention it, not to talk about the news day in & day out, and countless “documentaries”.

You had the same about Libya before the islamists took over.

One more thing i’ll add here. The internet gave the people near instant acces to information. It also gave them near instant acces to disinformation.

Think about it .

Not quite (IIRC should have been named F-24? ) , but i was much closer than that Pentagon chap. :diablo:

Must be some aviation lore outthere going by “It’s bad luck to christen an aircraft the wrong designation “. If there isn’t, there should be one now. :p

Found on another forum the FY 13 figures for F-35 cost. 29 aircraft ordered ( which LRIP is this, 5 ?)

19 F-25A at 176mil each
6 F-35B at 253mil each
4 F-35C at 279mil each

Is it me or it’s actually more expensive than the last lot ?! Would anyone who is up to speed with the programe have the breakdown for previous lots please? Thanks.:)

Dunno if the figures above include the engine.

Whats the progress on the NIIP AFAR aesa? Is it ready yet? What are the stats on those?

I am wondering this , because I like to see the Super 30s getting the NIIP aesa rather than the Zhuk AE.Although it has been reported in some sources that the Super 30s are getting the Zhuk , I am not very sure about that.

Zhuk-AE? Not convinced about that either, my understanding was that the Super-30 will have a heavily upgraded derivative of Bars with alot of technlogy from Irbis ( eg. the Solo-35 processors, presumably the back end blocks and TRMs etc etc etc.) :confused:

So the 741 & 747 are meant for those models without wing-folding and refueling probe?
Or is there more to it? How about the new RD-33MKM engine?

Can you plz post the full translation? Google tranlate is not working for me.

Nothing there about the MKM engine( probably it hasn’t been even flight-tested tested yet). From memory, first flight for 747 was December 24th , and transferred to LII on the 27th. For 741 , first flight on Feb. 3rd, and transferred to LII on the 6th.

Hm…looks like they put some pylons on it for today. Also where’s the chute ? Did they moved it in the beaver tail? ( 961 and 967 have a characteristic chute fairing where the tailhook attachment would be)

My theory: maybe it had to do with the UN vote on Syria , maybe the government(s) were expecting whatever resolution to pass and then probably bombs starting to rain down on Syria, but since China and Russian vetoed it ( oh those evil chicoms and russkies ;)), no boom-bada-boom happening yet. Very strange coincidence innit?

Those are the chaff&flare dispensers . What are they called again , is it BVP-26-80 or BVP-60-80 or something like that , i did saw it somewhere but can’t remember where …:confused:
I think the indian UPG has a jammer antenna on the RIGHT( oops) fin at the bottom, while the front facing antennas for it are most likely the small cilindrical “things” near the wing tip.( they look like a WW2 fighter mass balance weights)

First question : where on earth is that fairing thingie on the left nacelle??!
Second question : i wonder what 741 and 747 stands for …we know that the K/KUB is 941/947( presumably meaning izdeliye 9.41/9.47) while the MiG-35 demonstrators are 961/ 967( izd. 9.61/9.67), so the Syrian MiG-29 izdeliye code is 7.41/7.47?:confused:
