Who cares about harassed school run mums/white van men/company reps, this is by far the quickest and cheapest way of getting her back home !

It’s funny I thought SH Snr from the initial photos too. It’s not though.

I can’t think why anyone would want that. Very disappointing.

Good news on the crane, the quicker that’s away from our charming travelling community the better !

I bet the pilot has gliding somewhere on his flying CV , it’s always a good way to start out.

Looks like he landed off pretty much a base leg parallel with the M11? Judging by comparisons between the photos and google maps.

A startling set of photos that show the damage appears worse than I imagined, check out the starboard wing.

Look how fast the spit was turned around.

The Spit was repaired quickly because it’s a moneymaker.
The 2 seat Spitfire and warbird passenger flight operations are big business, people aren’t as poor as that grey beard old tramp will have you believe.
For example,’Miss Helen’ has two lucky passengers next week at 2400 a pop. If the gorgeous ‘Miss Velma’ was in the passenger ride business she’d be getting hauled out of the field as we speak.

I went to Duxford yesterday and had a lovely day but never relax until the weekend is safely concluded.
The pilot did a wonderful job and yes it could have been far worse.
Look forward to the day ‘Miss Velma’ gets flying again.

“The commentator referred to the 5 hurricanes leading the BofB formation without appearing to notice there were ‘only’ four”

I normally defend Bernard Chabbert but yesterday he was grating on me, not least for claiming Richard Hillary was injured in a Hurricane!

I did wonder if one of the other P51’s would be drafted in as replacement.
Judging by the run in it had the makings of a great solo! Glad Nick is ok and BE not too badly damaged.

The white walls are nice, but I preferred the look of them on Kidd Hofers ‘Salem Representative’ 334th FS 4th FG.
