My grandad died of Alzheimers too, so I can vouch for all those expressing sympathy for his family. A disgustingly destructive disease. 🙁

Its a evil illness kills the mind but lets body live on cruel in everyway.
I was never a fan of him or Thatcher nor will i miss him but i hope he R.I.P.

Love the shot of the Fiat taking off – pity they couldn’t have parked the trikes behind that bush though!

I would not mind trying to edit them out but they are part of the photo sadly,i am going to post a few more photos that give a view of what was a great day and the first Airshow i have done on my own.

I would agree with all of Willows comments,a good display sequence and nice to see the aircraft in all its glory without being too aerobatically OTT.
Second time I have see ‘Jaques’ out in public this year, nice aircraft with an incredible history. Lets see a lot more of her please display organisers.

I was lucky enough to see the Jaques at Sandown i did not know it was the first time he had displayed,I was impressed with the display which was very different from BBD or Janie who displayed more aerobatically,I was nice to see a different style of display,The photo a attached shows a top side view although not that well do to my photography not ‘Jaques’ i must add.The other 2 photos go to show what a high quality job has been done on her to make her look so good.

I know that I sometimes appear negative but…

Is it possible we don’t use phrases such as “Hurricane down at DX” for example.

    1) It is incorrect and
    2) Having used such a phrase it is somewhat ironic to then criticise the press.

At the end of the day this was a minor incident (unless you have to foot the bill) of which the AAIB are full of for light aircraft. The inference of the thread title really suggests something else.

    Just a thought.

I agree saying Hurricane down implies something much worse than this incident,I hope she fly again soon sad seeing her like that.

Not all of us do, I like CW & earlier jets, such as the Vulcan, Lightning, Hunter, Vampire, Venom, etc…. Love ’em!

Modern ones, just don’t have the same sort of presence, for me, though.

My favourite day out is a trip to Kemble.

I also love jets the Hunter in particular is a favourite of mine,Modern jets do not have same character as a Spitfire or a Hunter,I don’t shun jets just not talk on them so much.

I am so glad that so many operators come here to inform us properly.
“Rasta Cat” is great and Paul and Planesailing should be complemented for there good work.

A publication such as them should know better and i am shocked by the disrespect and lack of care for Ray’s feelings.
