this is Paralay’s own PS. while conformal weapon bay design looks close to proposed one (overdue with its size of course here – there’s just no enough place between nacelles to put anything in pairs there), pilots would not quite like such ‘nice looking’ intake design – especially on intensive slideslope maneuvers:)

And Ditto with larger Internal W-bays.. Its very much tied up to aerodynamic performance.

it lead to some risky airframe structure design solutions…that yet to prove themselves – as T-50 herself yet to push the envelope to the max and reach its structure G limits

Ken – I’ve talked to Ildar and currently chances are _low_.
Vol.2 is way bigger than Vol.1, and needs enormous efforts and money to be translated. More than subtle success with sales of English version of Vol.1 put this project on hold.

top-mounted, bottom-mounted ‘fast-packskies’ were studied at Sukhoi as early as 25 ears ago (see attached images from Plunsky/Antonov/Zenkin/Gordyukov/Bedretdinov’s ‘Su-27 Fighter – The Birth of A Legend’, but Simonov considered that Su-27 is ‘good as it gets’ with her enormous internal fuel tanks and numerous attempts of design team to promote the idea went nowhere
Su-35 in its middle-life design iterations offered for UAE in mid-90s would get conformal weapon bay between nacelles as an option, according to Andrey Fomin

I love that angle. A high res background would be sweet.

if you want, you can send something like Canon EF 600mm f/4.0 L IS USM to Yura – I have address:D

inlets ramps more sophesticated for better airflows control at high M numbers and maybes low speeds AoA.

without going into details, I’d say that T-50 movable ramp inlet is even more advanced design than those on F-14 and F-15
aerodynamics wasn’t standing at one place for last 20-30 years

Also, the T-50-6 model also shows an absence of inlet side vents. Does that mean they’ll be omitted?

err…what are these grey square things then on my cropped model pic, what do you think?)

so what do you think is in that unclassisfied diagram then? shock cone?

DSI won’t have use of ‘BLC doors’ labelled on drawing above, you know
    so perforated shock cone, yes
