Mi-8M – the planned 3rd major upgrade of the veteran Mi-8. Among other changes, it’s suppose to get the Mi-38 rotor system and engine.

it’s ca.2007 plans, abandoned soon after
current Mi-8 modernization plans are much less ambitious

I thought 476 has a new wing?
Why would it take so long to finish the first one if its the same?

Wing of 476 (aka Il-76TD-90A/Il-76MD-90A) has the same shape BUT different construction based on IL-96 experience – less wing panels, lighter support elements, much more. But the main thing about 476 is switch to paperless design documentation. Myriad problems with last one, deficite with experienced staff are main delay factors.

Il-76 and Il-76TD payload-range comparison. Pretty impressive improvement, Il-476 should add to that.

Add to what? Il-76TD(MD)-90A compared in presentation to Il-76TD, and ‘Izdeliye 476’ are the same thing:)

117A was a parallel development with 117S with higher performance but much lower resource on a way to 117. 117A mockup was publicily shown during MAKS 2001 airshow by Putin’s written order recieved via Chepkin’s request to him. Engine compressor face was hidden from view via canvas. Tests started on T-10M-10 (‘710’) in 2005 but soon were stopped due to vibration glitches.

Kh-58USHK size was one of the key decision factors for T-50 weapons bay length, as this version for internal carriage was extensively lobbied by KTRV. And no, you can’t carry two of them per bay.

Uh, does that mean this Type 30 engine has all ready been installed in one of the aircraft??

    According to Chepkin, yes

Because publishing houses are closing. Speciality Press and Midland are on the list. Piracy is not the main case, but decreasing numbers of potential readers interested in subject.
