Pulse detonation engine. Saturn, TsAGI and TsIAM work exactly on PDE. And of course works mentioned have nothing to do with T-50.
if “52” is painted yet
no
F-22 has to slow around mach 1 in order to open weapon bay and fire. That feature makes T-50 more competitive on weapon sale world market. It is claimed by Igor Korotchenko.
what an idiot!
new 50-2 maiden flight photos

50-1 went supersonic
50-2 will join flight test program at LII soon
could it occur that some Russian aircraft are cheap and easy to maintain/service, and others a headache? not all Russian aircraft are the same..
that’s correct. for example, Su-27 got nickname ‘suchka‘ (bitch) from aircraft maintenance technicians
I would like to hear you opinions on this (especially the Russian ones).
if it’s as credential, as what he wrote back in October 2008, than I hardly doubt 😉
It also means that in terms of service induction schedule, the T-50 PAK-FA will be the first to become operational in Russia by 2012, followed by the MFS/FGFA by 2015. The T-50 PAK-FA’s prototypes will initially be powered by twin 117S turbofans developed and built by MMPP Salyut Moscow Machine Building Production Enterprise. The 117S, which is a highly upgraded Lyulka AL-31F, now has a total thrust with afterburning of 14.5 tonnes, or 2 tonnes more than the AL-31F, and is also qualified for a 1,500-hour time between overhauls (TBO). Production variants of the T-50 PAK-FA, however, will be powered by the AL-41F, which will be produced by MMPP Salyut
He claims the PAK FA will be 24 tonnes and FGFA 17.2 Tonnes.
well, two seat version of T-50 gets 7 tonn lighter…how was it called for F-111B? SWIP (Super Weight Improvement Program) and, then, CWIP (Colossal Weight Improvement Program)?
here it should be only called MWIP (Magical Weight Improvement Program)
Were there any official statements about LO nozzles so far?
Spring 2010 – from Lyul’ka/Saturn chief designer Marchukov
http://vpk.name/news/38901_dvuhkonturnaya_integraciya.html
a single combined effort?
yes. would be strange if it would be other case
117 (AL-41F1)
Vzlet, and specific issue linked in Wiki, never mentioned Izd.127 designation
You have to admit though they’ll be hard pressed to gain IOC by 2013 as Putin promised around about a year ago.
you lie. he never said of ‘IOC in 2013’
when start of deliveries to AF began meaning the same as IOC for you?
just to remember how many flights YF-22/YF-22/X-32/X-35 have performed during test program
now, decades later, abilities of flight test equipment to absorb zillion flight parameters per one sortie, flight test software to accumulate and inteprete it have been increased dramatically
no one says that T-50 tests go without glitches that I can’t discuss here (just to note that recent ‘whistleblowers’ confessions’ have nothing to do with real ones), but this year promises to be busy year for PAK FA flight test program
And no Amiga, I can’t be bothered searching through thousands of posts
interestingly, but you can be bothered with typing a thousand of words…
From looking at close up images i’d say with a great deal of certainty that this jet was hand built. What happened to the robotic assembly line?
Robotic assembly line for prototype? R’u kidding? Have you ever been at aircraft factory?
Have you ever saw pics of YF-22/YF-23/X-32/X-35 being assembled?
Your attempts to compare quality of surface of painted J-20 (that was never was photographed as close as both of T-50s), are non-productive and brings us back to winter of 2010. All over again?
NPO Saturn : “…engines on current T-50 prototypes much different from Izdeliye 117S on Su-35S”…
most interesting comes from Marchukov (STC Saturn chief designer) little bit later – kinda they are ‘so good that fully responds to aircraft RFP” and aircrafts “will go to series with these engines”
interesting jokes…
