Ok, first off you can’t measure drag with the human eye.
That’s correct
For all we know the PAK-FA is just as draggy if not more than a Flanker.
“All we” means just you I guess? So you ‘can’ measure drag with your eye? You are walking wind tunnel?
thanks for the picture, but i mean new airframes.. 903,904
well, 904 suddenly went to daisies before making first flight after meeting pipeline at the end of runway on April 2009…I thought you know
shouldn’t they be making production versions now?
they do exactly that
2nd and 3rd T-50s, SSJ-100, Su-35s – too much work at the moment
now where are the new Su-35 pics? surely they must have more than 2 types flying now.

Su-35S coming soon
Its running into problems then by the sounds of it and not expected to enter service to 2021 😮
YF-22A – 1990 F/A-22A – 1997 F-22A IOC – 2005
T-50 – 2010 Su-50 IOC (pessimistic) 2021
not bad IMO
surely program will meet expected and unexpected hurdles
but should we really hurry?
The gist of the story is that the Moscow-based Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST) and several unidentified Russian news sources are predicting delays to the Sukhoi T-50 (PAK-FA) programme.
oh, Mercurius, thanks for sharing
I thought that it was something more serious than another CAST predictions
I can predict with the same probability that JSF or any other given program would enter hurdles
needless to say that there were no news stories here of PAK FA delays last months at all
I can’t say for now. I expect that first we should see flying lab with that nozzle before they will put it on T-50.
on the other hand, the tandem bay of YF-23 makes the sting ray as long as the J-20, but its not as fat.
YF-23A never had tandem bay. F-23A should have ’em.
A composite image of what’s believed to be NPO Saturn’s 2008 patent application for 2D-TVC (picture courtesy of Flateric):
combo image found to be a fake
while nozzle patent image is authentic, engine is not Article 117 (AL-41A1) but ordinary AL-31F
whatever, this is not the only TVC nozzle patent filed by Saturn last years
I can assure
err, and what exactly makes your statement so credible? these little black letters?
your diploma?
that’s why the T-50 has rounded nozzles, must be more stealthy
that’s why the X-35s had rounded nozzles, must be more stealthy, yes?
But no I don’t see anything startling or exciting about that intake
I guess it’s just because your knowledge in aerodynamics fell four years shorter compared to previous speaker.
Perspective Multi-role Fighter (PMF) aka Перспективный Многофункциональный Истребитель (ПМИ) is simply a Russian acronym used for FGFA in Russian-language program documents
so FGFA = PMF
Not a radar because it has no elevation control. It is likely a highly directional communications transmit/receive array. Probably for IFF and data link.
bull’s eye! how did you know?
From what I can say, we should expect something closer to second variant, but hardly so advanced as JSE EOTS/EODAS.
Piotr Butowski had some bits on PAK FA highly classified optoelectronics system in his October, 2010 article in ‘Lotnictwo’. Bits, literally – R&D work codename and – that it’s classified.
UOMZ call it OEIS (OptoElectronics Integrated System), other contractors use other acronym.
