    Some contradicting information:

Russia is not planning to deliver nuclear subs to anyone – Defense Minister

Why is there so much hype about the SOSUS system? As if it can hear the fart of a sardine.

And why is it always assumed that the undersea war will take place in the Atlantic? Russian/Soviet SSBNs will operate from their bastions and many of their SSNs will also be there protecting them.

Take a close look at the propeller. Look at what is written and in what language.

Also, why is the guy using rubber gloves? not to rub fingerprints or not to catch germs deposited by the evil Russkies?

    😀

Why would a BP operated drone be camouflaged?

    TJ

Salesperson: “you can have it in pink, pistachio or camo”

    BP executive: “Hmmmmm….tough choice”

We’ll see if they all make it back under their own power. :diablo:

YOU ARE LATE in posting your flame-bait.

I was expecting you would write these words as soon as the thread started.

What is happening with you? You must be getting old and rusty.

    😀

    Back to topic.

Check the daily news. Not too long ago, Putin promised a response to the deployment of US warships into the Black Sea.

    He kept his word.

Video (with good resolution) that shows S-200. Watch it on full screen.

I have my doubts about the Russian Navy being interested in acquiring the Yakhont/Brahmos or a derivative. In my opinion it does not give a much enhanced capability over the Moskit (SSN-22).

Don’t get me wrong, I think it is the best missile in its category. But,…..It is not the future.

I think the Russian design firms are quietly working on the next generation anti-ship missiles. Could be hypersonic, or could be stealth with passive homing (or active only at the very final stage).

Oh, and this missile(s) will not be for export or joint co-development with other countries.

    My 2 cents worth.

Politicians have probably caused more wars to be lost than generals have.

Yeah, yeah, yea… Always blame the politicians when the military screws up :diablo:

…and never give credit to the opponent:diablo:

Support for Russia on this would be an arguement for Taiwan’s independence. No wonder China is keeping it’s mouth shut on this one. :diablo:

Not only Taiwan. But also Tibet.

China is happy with what Russians are doing. But will not openly support them for the time being.

From various reports and other forums, I have learned that many key engineers are leaving the country after finding better paying jobs in Russia.

One example is a number of engineers from Motor-sich Ukraine have left (with their families) to work in the same field in Russia.

I don’t know if such a brain drain has already affected their missile designing and building capability.

On a lighter note: Brain drain out of Ukraine 😎
