There was an article on this very subject in my paper today.Apparently when it comes to judging attractiveness men ( surprise, surprise ) tend to go for the conventional busty blonde stereotype, while women find a much wider range of masculine types attractive. Not implying you lot are shallow, obviously ! Just that women tend to see the bigger picture. What’s the use of a bloke lookjng like Johnny Depp if he’s as thick as two short planks? And if I should happen to see a homeless person I have been known to slip them a few bob.Not all homeless people are totally undeserving of sympathy .

I see what you mean about stereotypes old shape, but I thought you would have been old enough and wise enough by now to know you just can’t pigeonhole people like that.I have read of some women who genuinely claim that they choose to wear the burkha because they feel that it liberates them from the tyranny of being judged by how attractive they are.But of course youl’d never do that, would you ?

The radio news had some details about MJ’s post-mortem that I’d have thought were better kept private, and there’s a photo in my paper of his Dad looking decidedly cheerful just 24 hours after his son’s passing.Whatever anyone thought of him, doesn’t everyone deserve some dignity once they’re dead ?

Morris dancers at our local folk festival made my daughter and me laugh so much that we cried.I’ve never seen so many grey pony-tails,and that was only the men .

My radio station just played a track from Off the wall that instantly took me back to my first trip to the US.He’s been the soundtrack to peoples’ lives for over 30 years, but it’s impossible not to remember the child abuse allegations, and his kids appearing in public behind those veils. My daughter’s psychiatrist (!) once explained to me that mental troubles often produced outstanding talent and creativity, which seems to be true here. But damn, the music was good .

In my case seeing the grandchildren this afternoon.

At least I’m sure of a sensible answer. And what made me smile was not actually coming last in the pub quiz .
