    Again, contact Jane Larcombe.

Yes, I agree with your comments about aircraft flying by and the commentary needs to STOP for the duration of the flyby, not just the bit when the a/c passes the commentary box.
Old Warden always seems much better for the one show my family and I attend in October. The commentator there has a nice tone, is enlightening and knows when to silence himself.
I suppose the way to tackle this really is a ‘Balbo’ of emails to Jane Larcombe at the Fighter Collection. She organises Legends, she sends the invitations out, she will be the one who can directly advise Stephen Grey as to why his airshow isn’t working and could be better. Whining on an Internet Forum is pointless. All in my humble opinion of course.
As an aside, how does one get to the naughty field, as I think I’d like to try it, so I can speak with authority.

Damage I gather is more extensive than appears in the image.

The port wing is ripped off, and fuel has flooded the field. I suspect it’ll be a while before it graces our skies again.

I guess I owe you an apology; I clearly got the wrong impression from your post!

Me? About twenty years of Flying Legends / Duxford, Shuttleworth, Shoreham plus many others; never stood outside but always paid on the gate, don’t take photographs of flying aircraft because my camera cost about £200 and aircraft look like dust on the lense…

…my phone doesn’t have a camera on it.

I’m sorry I was being flippant with my first post. I’ve never free loaded, but aside from the lack of income to the operators, it’s not the worst idea at Duxford.

…and of course you make an appropriate donation to support the running of the aircraft?

Only with tools of the trade (about £5000 worth) and providing my services for free. Oh, and I don’t own a camera, other than on my phone. And you?

You can get fantastic images there I’m told, as the sun shines from the south. You can’t hear the commentary though, which is also a boon at Legends I’m told. Also, it’s free entry, which is my favourite of all the prices. Win win really. Not naughty, just nice…

How odd that the thread title has been changed. It now appears that a report was filed just after impact.

The Scampton-based ones were never grounded

Is that because they’re on military serials Mike?

The posted website is waaaay out of date.
    Why bother posting it?

Why not help him out with an up to date link?

I know it’s not fashionable these days, but how great to see a Spitfire in authentic 1980’s markings.

Clearly they have NO idea what a flameout looks like!

I feel that this thread is getting a LOT more coverage and speculation than the Gnat crash a few weeks back, there wasn’t anywhere near the speculation of what happened to that aeroplane. Is it due to the extra loss of life? Is it due to lots of extra footage? Is it time to close this thread? Well, is it??
