Roobarb,
Your message deserves a longer reply, but thank you, that’s very insightful. I’m aware of Dicks time on BBMF, Pete R and SK have expanded on his knowledge. I’ll come back for more information, no doubt, and hope all this knowledge is being written down.
Cheers,
Kurt
They weren’t, it was a Dick Melton mod.
Why did he choose to do that? And how was the mod approved?
Flypast magazine has become an UTTERLY amateur publication in my experience. It’s become comic book in both content and presentation in the last decade or so, more than ever before.
I’ll await the flaming by the diehards.
High gloss camouflage with a dragon above the fin flash. Oh, hang on…

There should a new book out, charting the history of BBMF pictorially, I believe. It’s aptly named, “The Flight”. Have a look in the Key shop. Father Christmas has been informed 🙂
So, not a bird strike then?!!
Geoff,
I’m being nit picky, but it’s “au fait”, not ofay. It’s French, basically meaning familiar. Sorry to be a pedant, Moggy will be along in an hour or two to correct any further grammatical errors, he likes that kind of thing…
Wyvernfan, thank you.
Seafuryfan, I remember G-FIRE having the flashing cannons, but didn’t realise G-FURY had that too.
Are there any pictures of it crashed, or the wreckage? Similarly, where exactly near Waddington did it go in? I’m local and I’ve been employed there or nearby for over 25 years.
There is a float at Stafford.
Alan Cobham, not Chobham.
Vega, which Hawk was that?
I’ve had a few wets this evening, maybe one too many! If this is real, I may have just won the Euromillions, as this is EXACTLY my ambition! WOW!!! Good luck guys!
