If they persist, I would then put their parents in them.. That will bring some home discipline about.
Locked in stocks in the centre of town, made the laughing stock of their peers whilst pelted with rotten fruit and eggs would soon bring it home.. Add a big sign saying shoplifter etc would also alert those shops who is who
I would bring it back, a life sentence of 15 years is no deterrent, indeed a lot of the sentencing isn’t a deterrent, I would start by bringing back corporal punishment at school… Animals discipline their young, we should to, not using discipline the child soon learns they can get away with anything without retribution, and that follows through into adulthood. Half on the petty crime would have been solved by teaching them right from wrong as children and giving them custodial sentences as adults… What is the point of saying shoplifting you know its wrong, please do not do it again… It never works in my opinion, personally I’d bring back the stocks for shoplifters, pickpockets etc.
Much that is written above reminds me of Sharia law and its punishments. Yet I would guess those proposing it would be the first to complain if we went down that Muslim route.
Moggy
No … No… No, if Muslims want Sharia law they are free to leave this Country and move to one that embraces it, they are guests in this Country no matter how long they have been here and need to understand that the need to adhere to the laws of this Country. It was their choice to move to a Christian Country and culture, no one forced them here, and as such they need to obey the law of that Country, If the can’t then they need to leave, plain and simple. You try preaching Christian ways in Saudi….. You will get a shock, they don’t tolerate it, and neither should we.
Oddly I was agreeing Moggie just no to Sharia law… Just I re read it lol and it made no sense in respect to your post, please excuse the gibberish, I’ve been hanging about this forum to much and it’s rubbing off on me :p
The death penalty sounds to me like revenge rather than punishment.
I would like to see more realistic sentences. 300 years without parole.
Tell that to those on death row, it is more than revenge, the. Human being is very adaptable to their surroundings, they get on with it and it soon becomes the norm, prison life is just the same, after a couple of years you settle into a regime..
My view is if you have killed someone, their life has ended, they no longer have the opportunity to live on no matter the circumstances, and neither should the killer, I am abhorred that we have got to the circumstances we have today where the worst crime you can commit is priced at 15 years, murder does not simply effect one life it effects many. You can get more for robbing a bank, murder where it is cut and dry should carry the death sentence, if not the person should never see the world again from the outside of a cell.
Sorry to hear that Kev, 🙁 yes at the time I was in the RAF, prisoners received a higher cost allowance for food..
My ideal prison for murderers is the one in Ben Hur when they go to release his mother and daughter and they ask when he last saw them to be told never ( 5 years in prison ) but they are still alive as the food dissapears…
I am glad to see how well things are going 🙂 my thought have been with her. Kids of that age always seem more resiliant and bounce back quickly.. so glad she is on the mend Axel
“The Host” on Sky movies, a SciFi with a difference, very very good, ohh and she’s a hottie :p
White House Down, good film, got the Blue Ray, but on Sky Store too.
Though it did feel like several film scripts had been rolled into one and cobbled together to produce the script, part has a certain amount of The Rock in it, other parts seem to embrace large sections of the script from Die Hard too.
Maybe the American reporters missed it, as they gave it rave reviews, or maybe they were just to dumb to see it.
Still I hope the next stop for the confiscated cars is

And one hopes he becomes someone’s Bitch for a few months… That should make him think again.
You’re lucky, the Nigerian bank account I set up to free Princess Acccocola’s frozen millions has yet to send me a statement, and I have been paying thousands into it religiously. :stupid:
Yes, but in the same context there are files from WW2 that still haven’t been released even after the 30 yr rule? is up.
Never been in that position so couldn’t really comment Trumper
You have to remember that on a station there would be few that knew what went on in different sections etc and although you have signed the OFA you wouldn’t know what you were cleared / vetted to, though when you start talking about special weapon etc, you know your security clearance is past the pot washing in the mess level. If that makes sense.
Good on him. I hope the Scroats are still suffering.
I can understand it, there is a discussion on pprune re a nuclear incident at Bruggen where they dropped one, I knew about it at the time as I was there, although the incident is now in the public domain and the BOI (board of inquiry) has been released, I still feel uncomfortable talking about it or for that, what we actually did then.. Remember, for years what we were doing was Secret
I actually gave the one at Elvington a little kick when I visited, as the last time I had seen one it was live lol. I could understand his reluctance and yes not everything is in the public domain from that time and there will be things some people can’t talk about, I know there is still from my career..
You have to remember, when you sign the official secrets act it is for life with no time limit on it.
