FireBex is your man, he has converted several trailers inc ones for Spitfires. He might even be looking at selling one or two but am not sure if he still has them.
And the other lady on show :eagerness: listen to the howl and the engines crackle at the end of the vid
I am sooo glad we got the Bucc sorted, lots of blood, sweat & tears over the last few weeks, don’t think my old back could have taken much more punishment, but what a relief when she behaved perfectly last Sunday, cannot wait to see her on the runway on Saturday and Sunday. Suppose we had better turn our attention back to the Nimrod or she will be feeling unwanted and unloved. First ground crews will be in position from Thursday morning to till late Sunday to ensure all the aircraft run sweetly and most importantly to make as much noise as possible :cool::cool:
Do you have the crew details?
Regards,

Hi Kev. The crew details are as follows from the attached document

Gents.
I knew I had come to the right place, many many thanks indeed. All the info will be passed on to the relative this evening who will be extremely grateful of all your efforts.
Thanks again. NM
Thank you very much David.
I was confused by the Runnymede memorial bit when I started looking, I can only surmise she went down in the channel.
Who knows? But a complete Victor will be running at Elvington’s Battlegroup North event on May 11/12! See 2 can play that game T/O :p
And the NIMROD and the Buccaneer 🙂
So what are the plans with it?
Hopefully we aim to get it to a ground taxiing condition like other exhibits at the Museum. Next stop the brakes and braking system!!
Time travelling Dakota! 😀
Nice work though!! 🙂
Damn well spotted there TwinOtter :highly_amused:
My excuse is I have the Battle Group North event in May on my brain, I have till the 10th of May deadline to sort the museum’s Buccaneer out or my head will roll!!
Thanks nimrod mate.. the one tube video showed a noticeable white smoke from one of the stbd engines with something dripping from the tail pipe etc I presume that was just built up moisture etc and not fuel then?
Hi Peter. The white smoke is normal with the Nimrod on start up, the dripping was two months accumulation of rain, snow and moisture that had worked its way through the airframe around the engines.
We protect the jet internally by running 2 dehumidifiers 24/7 which are located in the cockpit and nav benches respectively (Lindy has one running in her cockpit 24/7 as well) unfortunately unless we win the lottery and can get a hanger built for the big jets we are at the mercy of the elements for years to come.
Great job guys and girls!! The youtube videos are great but it looks as though the nimrod got a little to anxious about her ground run and had a wee piddle on her parking spot…? Good practice for the fire crews though…:)
The Wee piddle is the fire crews! after every run they hose down under the engines in case of any contamination from fuel and oil. Well that’s what they tell us, we think they just want to see us kneel in cold water when we check the engines
We can also confirm that no Canberra aircraft were harmed in the making of this thunder day 😉
In case you missed previous messages, TOMORROW is Thunder Day at the Yorkshire Air Museum! Live engine runs. Nimrod is at 13.45. See ya there!
Well could always throw the hairdryer a tow line and lindy can pull her down the runway 🙂
Only if its using the HDU and we can refuel as we go:p
HAIRDRYER????????????????????:eek::eek:
Just remember who will be sorting your brakes & hyds before you set off down that runway mate:diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo:
Oooooooooo Fighting talk
Oh aye, slight threat of you lot turning your number 3 engine into a bunsen burner again and we become all gobby eh :D:D
The Nimrod’s Spey’s will roar, a lot will depend on what’s parked behind us but roar we shall.
are you finally serviceable and ready to turn the Conways over for a bit?
Why not come along folks Sunday could be fun :diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo:
