    Most Underrated WWII Fighter?

How about the Miles M20 – so good it didn’t even go into production. Fitted with TWELVE .303 browning MGs and was designed and built in around 60 days. Was fast and agile as the Spitfire and Hurricane.

HP57, what’s this about “there is a complete Halifax with bomb load still in a lake (and for sale as most of us know)” ?

Can you give more details or a link ?

So there is a complete Halifax in the bottom of a Berlin Lake with a FULL bomb load and it’s FOR SALE. I’ve heard this before – was even told there are photos, but surely it’s still the property of HM Government?

Don’t you think that Duxford would benefit from the traditional design of “glass house” as featured in Guzzineil’s photo? I guess it would be more roomy. Discuss…

I don’t get it – you said the entire crew were killed. What surviving members?

Surviving members of the squadron (not crew) sorry for not making myself clearer.

No, three airframes – Hendon, Ottawa, Brussels

Sorry, Bruce – forgotten how to count… 😮

So only two airframes survive and we swopped one for a Spitfire, which we have loads of anyway. Yep, that makes sense.

Sounds more like a Mk9 to me?

Also, do aircraft sound differently taking off from a concrete runway instead of a grass strip?
