Great News for Temora,
If I remember rightly TB863 once wore Luftwaffe markings for its role as part of a ‘Messerschmitt Staffel’. This was for a reenactment of the famous Amiens Mosquito raid at a Farnborough airshow in the fifties.
Thanks JDK for keeping us up to date.

Superb work Paul,
Jeff Hawk would have loved it, it must have been day one of filming though as the B25 is far too clean for one of Visionaire’s aircraft.
As Daz said how about a run of prints!
Do you undertake commisions as I would be very interested in something similar focusing on the Buchon’s.
A J March take a look at this.

Thanks everybody,
Just had a very embarrassing time at TGI Fridays, no aviation content today but I hope to squeeze some in over the weekend. 😀

Just a thought, on Septics’s third pic with the engine in front of the Typhoon cockpit – are they suggesting something or just teasing us? Not too good on engines so can’t tell if that’s the correct engine, also it’s obviously been moved from Hangar 4 for something
It would be a nice idea if a composite fuselage could be built, wether the IWM has resources to do it is another thing. I have to admit that I did take the shot to see if anyone took the bait. 😀
As far as Typhoon rear fuselage sections go, there are a couple around but I believe their condition is quite poor. Peter Smith in Kent did have one.

Take a look at how small the visible mounting is on the Oxford, the tailplane mounts are even smaller.

A few more from todays Trainer Day at Duxford.

G-AZSC is now owned by the Goodwood Road Racing Club and operates from Goodwood Aerodrome near Chichester in Sussex.
Its a great shame the old Harvard formation team are no longer in existence.

No one has mentioned Cyril Peckham, he took some superb images throughout the 50’s.

Charles E Brown, the best IMHO.

[QUOTE=Dave Homewood]I agree it looks like Kenneth Moore. Gary, is it actually Bader? I’m confused.
Also, which Spitfire is that. I don’t recall seeing any in the film coded BO-J. Any Spit-spotters out there?
Dave,
Kenneth More played Bader in Reach for the Sky, hence ‘Bader & Tuck’. 🙂
The BO marked Spits only appeared when the Duxford hangar was destroyed, they were representing a Czech squadron. I’ll get back to you on the aircraft id.

Am I alone in thinking that Susannah York isn’t really that pretty? I mean i’m sure she’s a nice person but if you ask me i’d rather sleep with Michael Caine (and no, i’m not that way inclined)
Moggy, have you still got that great shot of Miss York that you posted many moons ago, I’m sure you can remember which one I’m refering to.

[QUOTE=Moggy C]Supreme disappointment as Section Officer Harvey wasn’t sitting in the corner by the window looking crestfallen,
Section Officer Harvey crestfallen! She’s far too busy demonstrating to Tuck and Bader how to get your leg over, ( Can’t believe Tuck needed much instruction in this department, no comment for Bader.)

Hi Moggy,
I see they added a garden area out the front now, nowhere to park the MG.
If I remember rightly there is another pub locally that has Battle of Britain(1940) connections, the Cat & Custard pot @ Paddlesworth. Must get down their soon, once Hawkinge reopens for the new season.

Great photos guys.
Unfortunately I chose to be with the public massed at Mayflower Park, Southampton, where the Sun disappeared at the appropriate time.
Hi Mark,
I originally tried one of Southampton councils recommended viewing areas for the flypast down at Itchen Valley Country Park, but quickly realised I’d be better off at the airport, despite having to pay a ridiculous sum for parking.
I know what you mean about the sun, just typical.
Alphachi1989, Glad you liked the photos, it was just a shame that the area where the spits were parked was surrounded with wire mesh fencing.
