Thanks for all the kind comments.
The next opportunity to see the Meteor display would be at Kemble at the Cotswold Airshow in June.

A few more from the crowd side.

I don’t know the real reason for the sale of G-ADPR, but I know at the time it was very controversial decision, given that the aircraft had been restored by Hunting aviation only a few years earlier. I have fond memories of the late Angus McVitie displaying the Gull at Old Warden shortly before its departure.

Many thanks Alex, I purchased two today.:)
BTW. Classic airframe kits are not as yet back in production, Hannants, found some old stock from somewhere.

Welcome to the forum Andy.
Your first post suggests you were involved with the filming of Battle of Britain, if you have any memories or images from that time please feel free to post them here. 🙂

It will be interesting to see if Aeroplane is allowed to continue in its current format. Kelsey publishing are sure to make some changes to the look and content of the magazine, at the moment I buy both Aeroplane and Flypast regularly and I find they compliment each other well. This may drastically change if Kelsey decide to go head to head with Flypast. On a positive note Aeroplane may finally gain a better quality of paper!

Thanks everyone, it was great way to wrap up a season, next year is going to be a difficult one with no Battle of Britain anniversary celebrations.

Many thanks Daz,
A final selection.

I must have missed this post first time around, so apologies for dragging it up again.
PZ865 did fly in Angels One Five, the photo of PZ865 posted by Mark12 was taken at the Hendon air display of 1951. PZ865 is easy to spot in the film as its the only Hurri with six individual exhaust stubs and no radio mast. It also appears un coded at the start of the film as Septic’s aircraft.
P2617 also appeared in the film, there is some speculation that it was also flown during the filming although confirmation of this has proved impossible to find.
The photo of LF363 in US B markings was taken on 17 Sept 1961 at Coltishall for a 56 squadron Battle of Britain day Flypast, perhaps this is the reason why the BBMF literature always states that LF363 flew in Angels One Five.

He also used to Fly with the Old Flying Machine Company.

Thanks James,
There are numerous airworthy JPs and Strikemasters at Weald, the Catalina is due to ferried back to US at some stage, the poor old Douglas DC4 and C54 are up for sale but as far as I know haven’t had an engine run for many years now.

Hi Ben,
Just set the camera on shutter priority and set to around 1-50th /1-60th for ground running shots and just practice holding the camera steady at slow shutter speeds.
You will loose a few to start with but its not an issue with digital.
