I was under the impression that Septic had wrapped it in hessian and buried it at Kenley.
Damm, it was meant to be a secret, I’ll have to move it now, I was hoping the Time Team would discover it in a future episode, I could just see Baldrick enthusing over the half eaten peperami’s under the drivers seat.

The BBC reporter was Ian Wooldridge, the programme was ‘Colonel Culpeppers Flying Circus’ and dates from around 1981. One of the principal ‘Good Old Boys’ being interviewed was Col Lefty Gardener.
A great BBC programme, well worth trying to find.
Released as a video by BBC Enterprises ltd.

Veteran Ian Wooldridge currently works for the Daily Mail as a sports reporter.

PS Thanks Crazymainer for bringing the Bearcat story up to date.
I seem to recall in the early ’80’s that the Army Air Corps operated a camouflaged Chipmunk, i can’t remember what it was used for or wether it had hard points/guns etc. Unofficially known as the Spitmunk.

[QUOTE=Hairyplane]Secondly, if anybody out there has got a really interesting vintage flying machine in pristine condition and wants to swap it for a beautiful 15000 mile 89 Aston Zagato convertible ( one of only 35 built, list new was £183k!) – cash either way – I could be tempted to let that go too.
If its a Vintage Flying Machine you’re after HP, look no further.
Excellent coachwork, superb mechanicals and and a celebrity author on the log book, also knows its way to OW and DX without a map.
This is a rare opporturtunity to acquire MR Tweeds Ex Works homologation MGB GT.
I will happily take either the Zagato or the Ryan in PX against the beast.
In all honesty if anyone out there wants to help me free up a garage for the DB5 (Sorry HP, prefered Astons when they had the option of a Martin Baker recliner) please PM me.

Hi Septic,
Any chance of finding those F-BEEA pics we took at La Ferte, and posting them? Mine are all at sea…
Cheers

Dog house Ldr, have you tried searching Here
Go to the forum section and then to the various bomb groups. I searched for the 305 BG which worked better than 366 BS.

I seem to remember, that the Gladiator had a landing mishap (possible ground loop) on arrival at Mildenhall 1990? Hence the repairs to the fabric, also the lack of wheel hub cover.

Thanks Melvin, Albert for the Cloudster info/photo.

I seem to remember G-AEOF was in Pan American colours for a while for some reason, does anyone know why or have a photo.

Just for you Melv,
One of the other UK Rearwins, by strange coincidence lacking a fearless pilot.
Photo-Biggin Hill, sometime in the late ’80s.
All the best for the first flight.
