Does anyone know more about the late Paul Jameson and his father (who designed/built a flat-four Jameson engine flown briefly in the Miles M.18 in WW2 and later in the prototype Saro Skeeter on its first flight). He clearly was a Merlin engineering specialist, lived near Dorking and is rumoured to have been involved with Merlins required for the BoB film…..or am I misinformed?

Paul Jameson also briefly owned an ex Battle of Britain film Buchon G-AWHG that was damaged during the delivery flight to Spain for the film Patton. From what I have found on the web Jameson died tragically in the early ’90s whilst part way through a third merlin engined car.

Thanks Darren, the cold is the one aspect of Duxford that I would change.

The following photos make up the bulk of the show.

I’d never have believed that my attempt at an artistic Spitfire shot would have turned into a debate about fasteners! Now where did I put those rivet photos.

Thanks Anna, I didn’t thaw out until I hit the M25!

After the chaos in the car park, the rest of the journey wasn’t much better, traffic everywhere. Where do all these people go on a cold Octobers day.

Daz, I think you might be wise to get shares in Andrex.

Thanks Steve Y, for the kind comments, did you manage to take a decent shot of the Invader, unfortunately for some reason I only took one photograph of the aircraft from the rear! if you could post one it would fill a gap.

Albert, if you do go, take a flashgun, despite the photos looking bright the display area around the Brisfit/ RE8 is actually quite dark. I took many of the images at very slow shutter speeds as well as using the flash for others.
