What an absolute shame.

Yeah, it could have been that one.  Doesn’t really say anything at all! 

From what I can gather, looks to be the B-type scheme on the upper surfaces, going by the camouflage line in that photo, with black and white undersides of the wings (the lower cowling looks like it’s natural aluminium).  

Roundels would, I imagine, be the small B-type of blue and red, but impossible to say from that shot.

I did build a model of the Harvard as a Typhoon.  Will find a photo of it later.

As for a Harvard playing a Zero – they did so in the film God Is My Co-pilot, where they simply had the rear portion of the canopy painted grey and the traditional Japanese “meatballs” added.
