Could be a dodgy rumour Tom. Hope so as I’d like this route to stay. 🙂

This is a major surprise and a big dent to AB if proved correct, particularly as new 330s are being delivered to NW every month. That said, I think in part the 787 will be a 757 replacement for NW rather than an A330 replacement so maybe the issue isn’t that big a problem for AB? Just a thought.

Absolutely fantastic! 🙂

I also foresee the tide turning and whilst this is pure spin from the boys in the U.S., I for one believe the bulk of it.
IMO, things will quickly turn around to Boeing in the next couple of years and Airbus really needs to start thinking about a 320NG for me or complete replacement. The 737NG series is proof that a deriviative or improved aircraft can sell well, so why not a 320NG?
I also think there is a market for a true 757 replacement (not the A321) which Airbus could probably go for. I’d add to this the fact that I have always thought there is too big a gap between the A321 and A330; this surely could be something else to look at (in other words replacing the A300/A310) which has been in effect a redundant line for years.
Its time for Airbus to really wake up and smell the coffee, and that comment comes from one the biggest AB fans on here! 🙂

Great news.
Of course I’d love to see more long haul up here but if I can get to Cancun without having to go through Manchester, I’m a happy chap. 🙂
Lets just hope BY update their long haul product a bit as I think they’re now seriously lacking behind the others. I’ll know more when I fly with them in June I guess.

In terms of Ryanair bases, do the aircraft move around or do the aircraft based at Rome stay there? Are the foreign based aircraft flown by Irish or local pilots?
Be interested to know as I’ll be flying to Rome from MME next month with them.

A big well done from me! 🙂
