I guess its the modern thing to do, but for us nostalgic enthusiasts (and many more I guess), this is a sad day.
The vast majority though will not notice and many will be pleased to see Thomson branded aircraft (something many passengers associate with a decent package holiday).
Correct Andrew, AA and AB haven’t flown since the 2000 crash.

Boo! 🙁

Looks pretty good doesn’t it? Thanks Ren.
Just goes to show that if you do the prep work, Concorde can look a fantastic exhibit. I’m comparing the above to my ‘glimpses’ of the New York concorde which I saw in November on the Hudson River. That poor old girl is stuck on some old aircraft carrier exposed to the elements right on the water’s edge. Concorde on an aircraft carrier? I don’t think so because all your eyes turn to the size and wonder of the ship rather than this tiny little bird sat on its deck!

All very funny IMO.
Sometimes we take things too seriously; its great publicity, it pushes the boundaries a little but what the hell. :diablo:
I’d like to see more humour like this!

A bit of a history for you from a park and go website:-
http://www.parkandgo.co.uk/teesside-airport-history.html
Teesside Airport started life as an RAF base for Bomber Squadrons during the Second World War. From its earliest use in 1941 Teesside Airport, known then as RAF Middleton St-George, housed bombers for both the British RAF and the Canadian Air Force. When the war was over the base was used for advanced flight training purposes, and remained home to RAF Squadrons.
In 1957 work began on improving the runway and airside buildings, but by the time the work had finished in 1963 it was decided that the airbase should close. By early 1964 the local authorities had taken over the sight and set out plans to turn it into an airport for civil use, and excellent choice as the site already had well developed facilities.
Around 1.5 million pounds was invested in the airport, in order to re-equip the airport, build a passenger terminal and build an on site hotel. Work was completed and in 1966 Swedish royalty officially opened the airport. The first scheduled service from Teesside Airport was to Manchester Airport, ever since then the airport has added more services and flights to various destinations.

The best I can offer you is the connection to Middleton St George (that at least gives you the ‘M’). The airport was originally an air force base of Middleton St George (a village near Darlington).
