Just add my two penneth – BY are still definitely free. Flew with them only a few weeks ago and the headphones were there ready for me.:)
The IOM really struggled with fog yesterday. We had some staff over there who couldn’t get home for the weekend. This kind of summer weather is great, but there is a lot of coastal fog around (very localised) which is awful if you get stuck in.
Thanks Softlad.
So we know anything more about the replacements yet? You mentioned 767s earlier, and on a-net there is even a mention of rumoured 747s (which I just can’t see).
Which begs the question Wys, why MYT are getting rid of them?
I have to agree Ren, I just can’t see the day when a new modern commercial tri-jet would take to the sky.:(
You’re forgiven!:)
Sorry Ren – my mistake…
Jethros site still shows some aircraft in JMC colours I think.
The canaries counts as short-haul.
Generally, I think anything over the 6 hour mark is classed as long haul.
The aircraft type can be anything, for example 757s fly long haul across the Atlantic and A330s fly short haul to the Med, so I would say the distance is the judge and guess at 6 hours being the threshold.
No, I’m saying I didn’t know JMC ever had any tri-stars.
I knew about the retired DC10s but never knew they flew Tristars too. Does anyone have any pictures; I’d love to see a tri-star in JMC colours.
I didn’t know JMC had tri-stars?
To be honest Steve, I wouldn’t be surprised to see these aircraft go on the scrapheap.:(
This helps a great deal Softlad….thanks.
If they have funding till 2005, that’ll suit me.
Are you are your girlfriend both crew for MYT then?
More great news for Airbus! 🙂
Don’t LBA – you’re getting me upset!;) 🙁
lol Ren 😀
Yeah, I understand about Concorde Ren – I’d love to have flown that too – but thats one dream that I never really believed would happen.
You know what, this might sound daft, but I’d be apprehensive of flying it anyway after Paris. Thats crazy I know given every other aircraft I’ve been on has some kind of incident history – but thats the way the human mind works, guess its because Paris was ‘so real’ given the TV imagery.
That said, I’d still love the opportunity to fly it.
