I was in Budapest about 3 weeks ago.
The airport was pretty standard; a typical European airport really in terms of infrastucture but I thought rather quiet on the movements front to say it is a capital city.
Enjoyed the service with Malev though…not a bad word to say about them.
All good Tom, fancy sending a couple of those silver fishes up here? 🙂
Ok, maybe a little one-sided but even the most objective of us should realise that for once Airbus ‘appear’ to be lagging behind in the mid-size race.
Airbus IMO should now look at an A320 replacement that way outperforms the 737NG if they are to get ahead again. The concern has to be that if they devote all their energy to playing catch up on the 350/787, then they may lose sight of the next big project. Being behind in one race happens, but allowing themselves to fall behind in another is suicidal. But then again, who am I?
The proof of the pudding however, is in the eating. 😉
Eh mate, you either have balls of steel, a short memory or both. I admire your peristance at anti-airbus & pro-boeing posts, you are certainly determined.
Back to the one sided topic 😉
Yes it is PR and yes it is sometimes better to shut up, but that doesn’t make someone dillusional. He is just doing his job and only sales through the door at the end of his role will dictate whether he has done the right thing or not.
Oh please…get real.
This is the way of big business Sandy – it happens everywhere with CEOs and MDs – nothing new. He is not disillusioned, he is just doing his job by selling his products and slating the oppostion. This is atypical of business and politcs alike…you will find something similar (though I don’t have the time or inclination to look) for any airline, any aircraft manufacturer etc..
If ever a thread like this was going to be posted, I knew it would be by you… 😉
Agree, it will be on sale later, fairly certain of that.
I don’t think Flyjet have had a good reputation in the past; its very hard if things go wrong and you only have a small fleet.
Things seem to be going well at Newcastle so far though. 🙂
AT & AF were the 2 75’s there when I left this morning.
Thanks Manston.
Does this mean EUK no longer have any 742’s?
A little bit more complicated than that…
Co Durham (County Durham) has existed as long as I have and much longer I’m sure. Darlington is part of Co Durham and Co Durham also includes Durham City.
Middlesbrough is classed as Teesside (spelt with two ‘s’) or in some cases still Cleveland. Middlesbrough is not part of Co Durham.
Not convinced either. IAH is a good 10 hours away westbound which surely must be beyond the range of a 757. I just couldn’t imagine a 767 working unless it wasn’t daily and if it wasn’t daily, people would go elsewhere.
I regularly travel to IAH with work (off with AF on Sunday) and what I, any most others want is flexibility. 3 or 4 days a week just doesn’t do that unless it fits perfectly with your plans.
I don’t think the dual fleet has anything material to do with it. I read somewhere recently, that once an airline gets 30+ aircraft of a particular type, then commonality is mcuh less of an issue. With very good split of bus and boeing models in the fleet, I don’t see this as a problem.
The problem is fuel costs, and even then if fuel costs had been closer to $40 a barrell, then I bet we would have still seen losses in winter…it is winter after all and part of the norm.
Great Pics!
Aircraft flew past my window yesterday so still must be doing training here at MME.
Really?
Great news if true!!
