We’re getting a fair bit of activity this morning already, just seen an Hercules and a couple of other militaries go on finals near Stockton.
Sorry Steve, no. 🙁
I only bought my first digi cam in May and am just getting used to it. Someone will need to show me how to upload if I manage to get some good plane shots.
As did I, and as do I T5.
I just think the 767-300s have fallen behind in the standard stakes compared to their competitors. The service with BY though was faultless.
Its great Tom.
Really looking forward to the work US trip in September. I’m spending one night in Houston before taking an internal flight with Continental to Boston for a conference. The internal flight is over 4 hours; just shows how big the U.S is.
I’m also expecting to be in Rio de Janiero in August, though this has still be confirmed. 🙂
Very disappointing, though not surprising.
I’m not optimistic now about FR opening a base on Teesside.
Massive delays into Manchester too yesterday.
I think a Cancun flight was around a day late?
Comet,
What will be good tomorrow is the BY flight to Cancun – it’ll be good as I’ll be on it.
Make sure you give me a wave!! 🙂
Scott, thanks for the info.
What is the Spanair Ibiza flight that shows on BBC arrivals every Friday if it isn’t what they say it is?
Certainly Girjet have a Fokker in Spanair colours.
This is a GJT flight code however – at least I know who GJT are now!
Thanks guys.
Interesting question Tom, I was wondering the same myself!
Good replies guys – it clears up my query too!
One of the reasons I think the Teesside Rome flight does so well is that there is no alternative at Leeds. I noticed many of the passengers on my recent flight were from York and the general Yorkshire area. It would be interesting to see what would happen to a city leisure destination served by all 3 North East airports on a daily basis. My fear is we would probably suffer. We must get some service here quickly because otherwise the other airports will just crowd us out.
A big thumbs up to Jet 2 and LBA though; they’ve got the guts and determination to do what I’d like to see at MME. Can’t wait to see the 757s and the Canary flights operating. 🙂
Let’s hope you’re right Scott and that the good loads are a pre-curser to a new base over here!
DC10 – I agree. Interesting point on price; my two low cost flights on consecutive weekends; one was £133 return including taxes, one was £60 return including taxes. Both good fares but Ryanair were by far the cheapest. And at the end of the day, a lot of decisions boil down to money.
Well thanks for all your kind comments folks.
I’ve been in my new job 3 weeks now and as expected have no time to post on here, though I have snatched the odd lunchtime read to keep up to date. It does seem though I will be getting out and about more; I’m expecting to go to Norway in the next 2 months and I’m booked on a trip to Boston in September. So it looks like there will be plenty more flying experiences to come, though unfortunately they are work related. As and when these happen, I’ll of course post reports here.
Talking of which, I’ve finally got round to posting up the reports for my two trips in May. They’re sitting in the trip reports section if anyone is interested.
It scares me that things like this happen – as it would anymore.
What appauls and petrifies me is the frequency of these incidents up here now. Sooner or later something has to be done about this, and preferably before its too late; we all know there is a problem now, so lets do something now.
Another story reported on Century FM yesterday. Again, I can find no link to the story so I hope you’ll trust me on the source:-
A Bmi Baby flight returning from Malaga last Wednesday (4th May) was involved in a near miss with a military aircraft. The aircraft landed safely at Durham Tees Valley but was subjected to inspection on its arrival.
