I find everyone’s interest in this subject fascinating.
For me, the fact a young lad is persuing his dream and already achieving something way beyond his years is fantastic and I continue to wish him and Alpha One all the best.
There may be broken promises, delays and an apparent string of mishaps for us all to comment on, but such is life and such is business. Whether it works or not, who knows, but he’s come along way to get this far, if it were me I’d sure be fighting to make sure I don’t die on my backside now.
As for the term ‘baby branson’ – well maybe it is premature, but one thing is for certain daddy branson loves publicity, and Martin, in some shape or form, keeps tongues wagging and keyboards drumming on this site and many others. Maybe the two aren’t that dis-similar.
Come on Martin – you can do it!!! 🙂
Thanks Spence.
Any timetable yet or frequencies?
Pity Prague hasn’t returned and I can’t believe we’re focussing on Knock and Cork. Lets get to the med more BMI Baby!!!
Any news on the routes for MME’s two aircraft next summer?
I was at the airport yesterday (flying to AMS) and noticed less than 12 people boarded a 737 to Cork! Crazy.
Great report.
Great report Tom.
Sounds like a great resort for plane watching too!
Great report.
Always enjoy reading about Larnaca, one of my favourite destinations. 🙂
Great report.
Brings out the fact that flying isn’t all excitement – it is actually quite often boring, frustrating, annoying and unnerving.
Excitement comes before a flight, and then it is usually just before a holiday flight for me. The days of excitement in the air seem to be dwindling a little and your views echo mine in many ways.
Good report SST.
Any report on your return leg? 🙂
From what I can gather, most flights are starting to get back to normal.
Noticed this morning that BY422 into Manchester (the flight that I was on 3 weeks ago) was due in just over 2 days late. After that, most flights seemed to be running to time.
Hmm, the 727. I haven’t flown on one for years, the last ones being Dan Air examples back in 91 I think.
Exactly what I was thinking Rdc; as much as I would love them to, I just cannot seeing BA going AB for longhaul, with the possible exception of the A380.
I don’t think we’ll hear anything on this for years.
However, my gut feeling is the A380 will come and I’d also expect an order mix of 777s and 787s. Can’t see them ordering the A330/A340/A350 when they already have T7s in service – would like to be proved wrong though.
Some good thoughts and opinions there folks, thanks.
You know what, if I do make the flight, then I’m not expecting comfort, a quiet cabin, great entertainment etc. What I’m expecting is a tired cabin, old fashioned entertainment and rattly bumpy old ride. 🙂
Flew on one in 2001 Tom.
Once you get over the cramped seats, you’ll love it. PTVs, pilot view and belly view cams. Downstairs loos are a novelty too.
And you’re on a 330, what more could you ask for? 🙂
Good luck indeed. Reminds me a little of the Planet Air set up in Leeds a couple of years back.
The Canaries, Cyprus and Greek Islands are hugely popular destinations (all year round at that in some cases) yet we really don’t see many frequent cheap flights there like we do for the shorter runs.
Lets hope this takes off…literally and that Jet2 can do similar things at Leeds come winter with their 757s.
