Hi Mark 12
I of course see where you are cominng from but what is the point of the provinance when everybody knows it is a sham and that none of the original remains – it is the original Irsihmans axe !
I am well aware that most of a Spitfire that I saw rebuilt found it’s way into another static restoration and now masquarades in a museum under another identity – great is all I can say!!! Two Spitfires instead of one !!!
Provinance is bunkem and we all know it – just make up an identity from a known destroyed aircraft and use that – I can’t believe that a perfectly restorable static wreck should be destroyed to provide an identity. This makes no sense. If I crash and burn the aston but save the ID plate and put it on a new build one it isn’t the old one only the ID plate is from the old one.
In Australia we put people in jail for swaping the identities of motor vehicles.
I’m an adult and a realist but someof this cloak and dager stuff is a bit infantile.

John
Hi all
Then of course there was the famous recent incident with the B17 retracting it’s wheels after landing for the cameras (Well there was a camera filming at the time) – how are the repairs going.

Hi Dave
No worries – it;s a pleasure.
Just remember that the images are pretty crap and I haven’t learnt to walk on water yet so we shall see what can be done.
Kindest regards
John

Hi Plazz
Thanks for the pics really good to see
Probably best to edit your post to NOT acknowledge the guys on the gate for letting you do this they may not thank you if someone in charge sees them if you know what I mean, I have inadvertantly done this myself once, Sorry to be a pain but the anal retentatives are out there waiting for opportunities….

Hi Phillip
Mostly correct about the Lewis but annoyingly enough I had a couple of prototype water cooled versions in the armoury in Sydney when I was in the Army and they dated back to trials with a Wapati in the 1920 to improve cooling at high rates of fire when barrels were cooking off. Not a great story however as all the gear required to make it work was counter productive and I believe on occasion the cooling water froze!!!1

Hi Dave

Hi
I guess the British will have to live with what has happened to black 6 which is in my book worse than giving her back to us – flying warbirds is at least a growth industry at present downunder as opposed to what is happening “in the mother country”!!!!!!!

Hi Tim
As I type I have an RAAF photo above my desk 2X3 foot of Black 6 in the desert under the control of several famous RAAF types and the story has too much traction here for me not to believe it. I will post the full story from the Sqn record when I find it. Give it back I say!!!!
Regards
John P
Hi Tony
Well Black 6 really should come back home downunder and not stay with the thieves who stole her after the RAAF captured her – True!!!

Hi
Not a bad watch – I have it on VHS and the Mossie stuff is good although sensitive people should avert their eyes at the appropriate time as there is strong violence done to a Mossie at one stage. It is a bit B grade in terms of quality , story and some acting etc but good to have in a collection as there is very rare color footage of Mossies and Ansons operating in the Far East.
