    Hi all

Just a shot of Oscar Ducks verrrrrryyyy nice Avenger here in Brisbane ’cause hes so shy and doesn’t push his own wagon – we are all very happy this and his other aircraft live here – thanks Oscar.

I think the TBM would be a great addition in the UK and displays very well too

    Hi all

So that should cheer all you Pommie Buggers up – been right grouchy last few weeks and with all the doom and depression that things weren’t picking up in the display scene etc etc I was starting to worry about you all and send over a barge load of mogadon or something.

The UK scene is definately picking up a bit and the new arrivals can’t hurt – I reckon a new wave of sucess at Duxford and the UK in general is not far off.

Will they all be at Leg Ends this year? Have to get hopping on the Spit!!!

Hi all I’m with Cees on this one

I have been involved in a few “official” recoveries where remains were discovered – in some cases unexpectedly and on one occasion I had to physically restrain a ghoulish press photographer who was asked to leave whilst we attended to the remains of some very brave men who had tragically lost their lives protecting his. Suffice to say these people become hardened to all sorts of things in their profession and I feel lose their perspective and humanity as a result.

I prefer to have a professional “official” photograper on recoveries so historic and important images are captured whilst adressing the more sensitive aspects in an appropriate manner.

    My thoughts.

So sorry to hear of your loss – You have his memory to be proud of. My father was a Vet too – he served on Timor as a Comando in the Sparrow Force – and I was and am very proud of him – When your sadness is blunted a little you will find comfort in all your memories of him and the pride you feel in his achievements and having known him.

I am thinking of you and may he rest in peace.

    Hi Tj

Tell you what I would gladly swap the stuff you guys are going to nick for everything that is going to be discovered in Norway over the next 10 years – Deal or what

    Dave

Stuff is happening and the result will be good

I am sorry to hear that deals were stopped but I can’t think why it would matter ?

    Hi TJ

More Norwegians on budget holiday I should think.

    Snapper

I don’t think a private deal gets “scuppered ” by idle speculation by a bunch of tired ol people on a site like ours. I would speculate that the YAK is moving downunder for a spot of Repair ?

    Just a thought

    Hi

You will get a lot of responses from more knowledgable people than me on this but Syd was a real character and a player in the Aviation scene here in Australia and also ran an airline using amongst other things Ansons I believe.

A Trip through this hanger in the very early 60s wass my first exposure to Warbirds and it is what strated my interest and the road to perdition I am on now.

    I remember seeing the following

Me109 – Now in the AWM
P51 – Now at RAAF Point Cook
Ansons – One now at Hendon and another at Tamworth
Hudson – preserved now at Point Cook?
2 X Spitfires – One now flying at Temora and another flying in the UK
an Oscar – now in Seattle

He saved a lot of history in that hanger.

Plus some other stuff I can’t remember now.
