Really bad news from LGW, however this may be good for airlines like EI who offer great connections via DUB to LAX ,SFO, ORD, JFK, MCO, IAD and BOS at competitive prices!

Ireland are playing Scotland in the 6 nations tommorow so no doubt DAA was fully loaded. Imagine PTVS on EDI-DUB!

BA inflight service is certainly among the best and from what Ive heard about food, lounges etc they appear to be a great airline. Ive only flown a short DUB-LGW-DUB with them.

LGW seems to be somwhat efficent but LHR is a complete nightmare for BA ops.

5 1/2 hours is far from long haul it just about qualifies as medium haul!

BA,BD,FR,KL,LH,AZ,EI in fact most airlines have no inflight entertainment in shorter routes.

It is BA who loose the bags! Its because of delayed flights and lack of staff.

BAA only run the baggage system they dont do the actual baggage handling.
I have first hand expierence of it when I worked for BA in EDI last year for a number of weeks, passengers litterally had hours to transfer and they would still arrive without baggage.

If you give me dates Ill see if I can arrange a few hours free and would be happy to chafuer you around to a good spotting area for a few hours if you like.

Failing that to get to the decent spotting positions it would be ideal to have a car, its a long walk espeically if the weather isnt great.

Spotting from the terminal is possible airside but isnt great. Landside spotting inside the terminal is awful.

As someone who works in a busy airport I can tell you that I could easily get knifes and other weapons onto a plane easily!

Iberia do have a direction and are doing very well, one of the worlds most profitable airlines!

Wouldnt Air Europa be better off working on their current brand and name as its already well known?

Norwegian Air Shuttle may be the cheapest- http://www.norwegian.no

But also have a look at the flag carriers like SK,LH etc as they can offer some good fares if your dates are flexible but they may require a stop in CPH or FRA.

HKG is built on a man made island, so that is a big factor there!

Nearby surroundings also have an effect BOM is in quite a buit up area.
