I was watching the Thomson on FR24, it flew overhead here in Bolton, was louder than the normal whisper when they pass, on closer look all the main undercarriage was down, which is not the normal for Bolton as around 10,000ft. I think it may have suffered some hydraulic issue.

Are you sure this one is for ThomsonFly? That the livery matches ThomsonFly’s does not mean much. It could also be for another airline in the TUI holding. I know that ArkeFly, JetairFly and TuiFly Nordic are also due to get 787s.

As above mentioned, the first Dreamliner for the TUI group is for Thomson being G-TUIA, also I believe that the first one to be delivered to them will be G-TUIB. think they will get 4 in total this year all for the UK before the others find there way to the other members of the TUI group.

The reason for the lights to appear seemingly different from other types is that the 787 uses LED’s instead of the normal strobe types.:)

Ohherr the front part over the nose reminds me of BMI, the rest well it’s a bit unfinisged, they could of painted those swirly bits on the tail and engines to make it flow.

Still not the old Britannia iconic look is it?.

Super pics there, we were there Last Dec from a cruise, the day we flew back it was like mini Gatwick, TCX,Thomson,BA and Virgin. Tis a nice place to hang out sunny Bridgtown.

We flew man to Bridgetown last year p&o charter. Was on X first choice 767. Economy was 2x3x2 and you could not fault the leg room and seat comfort. We had friends who were on the same flight and had upgraded. Again their seats were 2x3x2 I recall slightly wider but nothing you would notice.

I think all they got extra was more movie choice, wider seat back TV’s and Champaign prior to take off, now they paid £200 each, for not much extra so to me if you are on a x first choice it’s not worth it, oh I forgot they had mood lighting as well, which was pants all you could see was a horrible green red light it looked tacky.

Save your money the back is really comfortable.

I would be so called Premium Economy on those old FCA aircraft is Horrible! Much prefer the TOM A/C!

Umm aren’t they about the same age?, we flew on PJLO last Dec to Barbados, they have the updated interior and pleasant 2x3x2 seating in the back was very comfortable for the 10 hour flight. I thought the Tom long haul are the same pitch but more seats and do not have the 777 style inside.

Isn’t seating less on the ex FCA 767’s due to less passenger exits or smaller doors to TOM and having a floor that cannot support the packed in Tom cattle trucks?

How wonderful, certainly brought back many a memory, it must have been the time when me and mates spent nearly every Saturday at Ringway, do remember the ATA 727 which I think was used for BA, and all the DC-8s seemed to congregate also over the weekend, Worldways is one that springs to mind and also the Emery worldwide cargo flights.
Felt like yesterday seeing these again. You did seem to get a large variety back in the 80s BIA MD80s Paramount and the list goes on. Thanks for sharing but making me feel old.:D

    “repetitive”
When you start substantially contributing photographs, then perhaps we can trim down on others efforts……

I think you will find that in the past I have “contributed” with many a picture, it just seems like a wiki page on every built commercial airliner:D

All the pics and nostalgia is good, but is this just getting a little repetitive?

    Cheers 😀
Aye there was one or two biz, highlight being the Angolan Govt ERJ.
TBH LIS is not a mentally busy airport for a capital city, obviously loads of TAP, and quite a few EZY’s.
Those PGA Fokker’s have seen a bit of mileage 😀

I thinks it a busy airport but busy in the sense not much variety, was docked last year on a cruise ship and was watching aircraft all day whilst on deck, traffic was high but a lot of the same.

Cracking pics as per normal Mr Tartanpics.

Nice catch, is this 757 one of the recent additions to TCX, what puzzles me didn’t they get rid of two and then replace with two?
