Mini drivers do it in tight spaces
Only if you’re downwind of it 😀

Never met that many blokes called ‘Janie’ actually. Still, first time for everything!!

D’ya know, that’s a very, VERY, good point!!

Crikey!!
That’s a lot more than appeared in the photos of PT462 that I’d seen. I stand corrected.
What about the late Charles Chruchs’ MkV, EE606. How much of that was original? (It looked damn fine, however much of it was orginal).
I’m quite happy to see these aeroplanes fly, however original they are, or however ‘fluffy’ their history, as they all stand as memorials to those who flew them originally.
There are ‘several’ Hawker biplanes currenly under restoration to fly. I seem to remember (I’m being careful now) that some of these existed purely as a fuselage frame work when originally discovered. However much new material goes into them, I would rather see them fly than just remain as a forlorn wreck.
It is constantly a surprise to me how much original material is used in airworthy restorations within the UK. Sadly, it would appear that the same is not always true in the US, where the owner requests an ‘as new’ restoration and is quite happy to take delivery of a brand new aeroplane.
Still, that’s down to them.

Don’t PT462 and PL344 both have a **** Melton connection? Wonder if there’s something in that?
RM689 obviously wasn’t as badly broken as it seemed at the time.
Good news. It’ll be like the return of an old friend.

EDIT: I can’t believe that the PC situation is such that a very common first name cannot be used these days!! 🙁
OR,
as it’s already full of sand, it would probably make a good childs sandpit:D

The part of my memory labelled ‘Mosquito’ seems to be MIA at the moment, but I’m pretty sure that the prototype Mossie wasn’t an official Ministry aeroplane until it had proved itself.
I think it originally flew as EO234, which is not a British military serial. It would therefore not have necessarily been in the standard Prototype colour scheme. I’m pretty sure it was always yellow though.
Due to an odd type of film being used at the time, it appears Black in many period photographs.

I would think that the T9, PT462, would fit the bill. When it was recovered from a childs playground it consisted only of a firewall and cockpit, neither of which was in very good condition.
The rebuild of the ex Rolls Royce MkXIV, RM689, if/when it happens, will also fall into this category

Hopefully a good crowd puller for Aeroventure.
As it’s a geniune DC3, it would be nice for it to be restored into it’s own original civilian markings.
Aeroventure are pretty good at that sort of thing, so there’s a fair chance.

OK. Thanks.
Another thread that I must have missed. I really must get this Internet thingy at home so that I can look at it without having to turn it off whenever the boss wanders by.
Although thinking about it, the same may actually apply at home:D

Nice 🙂 and confirmed as the one I keep seeing (at a distance).
Cheers for that, but you’re still a Jammie git 😀
Willow
Why? Are they operated by British Caledonian as well????
That’s what most of their charter flights seemed to do…….

Yak 11 fan, is that G-YCII in your rather ‘jammie-git’ photo?
