Has anyone heard anything?
Assording to a press release by the Dutch MOD, the Dutch Spitfire was involved in a landing mishap tonight. While/during landing, it ran of the runway shortly after 19.00 lt. Pilot is ok, damage to the airframe is unknown
Apparently it went threu its undercarrage
Fokker G.1, the best fighter in Dutch when the war broke out. Some one believe that G.1 is better than Bf110 in dog-fighting, is it true? Does anybody have some air record of G.1 between May 10 and 14 in 1940?
Thanks a lot!
The G-1 was a good multirol aircraft. It had to do to much. If it had designed with Hispano engines as it was intented to it might have been the better aircraft.

Does anyone have or know where to find a picture or drawing of a Jumo 211 J engine. Either cutaway or close ups or any photo to tell you the truth.
Also does anyone know where a plate bearing the following would have been placed.
Garat nr 19-5718 A-2
Fl E 571801 and BA 15 something after it
Werk nr 115714more details later.
Thanks in advance.
Try writing to the Brussels air museum. They had a Jumo some years ago. Could not make a proper photo of it. Did see it once, they may have put it in one of there famous storage facileties
Who can tell me if the story that was in the book Spitfire the New Zealand story is correct ore wrong. Because as it is right, will the honour go to the Dutch Spitfire?
For those of you who may be interested we flew ML407 this afternoon almost 63 years to the hour she earned her stripes..

Did ML407 fly during D-Day? As stated in Spitfire the New Zealand story. The engine failed to start at first attempt. At the end in his haste to to catch up with the other aircraft he collided with flying controller’s poorly placed telephone and chair. ML407 required a new propeller.
Houlton took of in the end with ML176!
