Yes, I believe they still have 5 of the beasts for ground instruction NZ1805 / 6 / 13 / 9 / 22 at Woodbourne with another NZ1827 at Wigram. There should also be most of NZ1820 at Woodbourne although this one has suffered badly at the hands of the cannabilser’s. My info on this is a couple of years old so if any of our New Zealand based friends could confirm this it would be great!
These two were in the garden of Lightning lover and Binbrook vet Charles Ross. The silver aircraft is XM192 an F1A and the subject of the first Airfix model. This aircraft is now at the closed Bomber Country Aviation Museum at Hemswell if my memory serves me right. The grey aircraft is F6 XR725 which was the one but last 11 squadron CO’s aircraft, hence the black spine and fin. This aircraft should still be in Charles garden. Charles has alot of Lightning memrobilea in his house, a visit to his Lightning Room is a treat for any Lightning fan!
Lovely collection of dehavilland beasts – thanks for sharing Glyn. 😎

Hope this helps, it’s as accurate as I know. Any updated information would be very welcome.
The aircraft is in one of the hangers on the west side of the airfield, one of the ones that the aircraft tails stick out the back of. Apparently there was so many people there last Friday that the police were moving people along from the back roads and threatning to book people. I went Wednesday in the vain hope of seeing her but alas failed, infact the only thing that I did see other than the tanker doing circuits was a 2 seat F16 that arrived from somewere ( had SP on the fin if that helps ). Working tommorow so I guess my chance has gone. 🙁
The Spit flying with the Typhoon was PS915 which we have flying on a bit longer this winter due to the lack of hours it flew this season, hence the reason it was at Duxford last weekend.
If your looking to use up some hours why not take it upto Daz’s place and buzz him for a bit I’m sure he’d appreciate it! 😀
I saw it for the first time this evening and its got some great Bucc and Hunter footage in it but I suggest if your lucky enough to see it that you use the ‘mute’ button this is a dreadful record even for him!

My one and only piccie of the Prentice on the move from Sunday. Dont know if you’re on board Old Fart but she looks nice anyway. 🙂
Had a great flight in the Devon on Sunday ( piccies on the Heron thread ), Prentice will be next! Keep up the good work Air Atlantique.
‘ZK was indeed dismantled at Hatfield in March 57 but the fuselage was then transported to Farnbourgh.
Also the first man to safetly bail out / eject from an aircraft going faster than the speed of sound!
Hello G-ORDY
The Comet in question is the second prototype c/n 06002 : G-ALZK.
This aircrafts fueslage was used to test equipment installation for the Nimrod. The nose is from Mk2 XK669 and the tail is from XM829. This fuselage was later moved to Woodford and scrapped in the mid 70’s.
If your interested the Provost is WV587.
Hanningfield Metals having a bit of a clear out then!
That Andover fuselage looks nice. 🙂
