Just spent the last 30 minutes trying to get my computer to play ball with my camera, so no piccies so far but arriving today have been – Iceland Air DC3 ( very nice ), Pink Lady, Duke of Brabants B25 to join the one already there, 2 Dragon Rapides ( BEA one from Bourenmouth – nice to see that out and about and the dark green one that gets about ). A couple of nice displays from Steve Hinton in Princess Elizabeth and a couple of routines from EP120. A grand day!

Erm, right, red Chippies. Two of ’em, G-BCSL, and WP903. ‘SL is based up in the merseyside area, but where does WP903 come from? Reason I’m asking, is I saw an all red Chippie flying over our house a few weeks back, and as ‘SL is a bit far away, I doubt it was her…

WP903 is based at Henlow and is available for hire.

Where do I buy my ticket! 😀

This show would be great, it has been done before a few times but not ‘quite’ on the scale you are thinking of! The first time was at Duxford – 4x Hunter, F86, Mig-15, Gnats, Vampire, Venom, MB Meteor, Comet, Magister, BAC111, DC8 plus some others I think. Then at Cranfield – 3x Hunter, Strikemaster, JP1, Vampire, Meteor, F86, Mig-15, Canberra, Lightning fast taxi etc plus a balbo at the end. Then more recently at Kemble which also included a balbo ( flypast ) at the end. Would be great to see it all again. Damien’s probably got some piccies somewere….

As a small point of order I’ve never seen a chav vehicle with fluffy dice.

You should spend more time round my way then – there standard fitment! You haven’t got a set and are feeling a little protective have you Damien?

    Stuart – very funny! 😀

So you mean one of the many people who tell you they know someone with a Spitfire in their shed might not be lying! 😮

Nice collection of piccies there Lee. Nice to see a variety of different angles and composure’s. I really like the picture of XN728 taken at Balderton through the tree’s / bushes.

I assume that due to a lack of response from anyone in the know at Duxford,
The good old Vasity will probably be left alone to degenerate to the point of being beyond economic repair.
Still, its not a WARBIRD is it. Warbird, what a pathetic description of an historic aeroplane. I suppose in this day and age we have to dum things down.
Warbird – shove it up your arse.

Good luck “Vickers Varsity” You’re going to need it.

I take it from this that I’m not the only person who hates the word ‘Warbird’? Any aircraft used by the military ever is a warbird. But generally used by elitist people who think that aviation only ever existed between 1939 and 1945 and who have read one to many war stories / comics in there lives. Sorry just had to get that chip of my shoulder.

Stop knocking this project! I to have my own misgivings about this project but this is the only time I have mentioned it and the only time I will. If this project fails you can bet your bottom dollar that any further proposals for aircraft to receieve manufactures support etc on such a large scale will be wriiten off at the drawing board with everyone saying ‘ oh no we got invovled with the Vulcan and look were that got that us! ‘ This project is now deep underway if it fails so potentionally will many more in the future. If you have negative thoughts about this project it does nobody anygood to voice them.
