I’m sorry but I’m more than an a bit ‘tipsy’ on the real ale when I right this but what a load of old bo**ocks this all is, the whole Sally B Insurance issue has nothing what so ever to do with the crash of the Firefly in 2003!! This is a plane crashing into building lead story nothing to do with airshows. The national news media are a bunch of sick shock and awe lead bunch of idiots who are trying to get the most shocking story to put in front of there viewers so they can, A – sell a lot of advertising or B – get some kind of award for coverage of an average event that they have blown out of all proportion by putting an obviously fake presenter in front of the viewer who looks as if he really cares and that he is not picking up a pay check for creating a sollom feeling and a responsive reaction out of the easily lead general public. 😡

Saying something daft then huh….we will see, maybe the way it was phrased but that is another issue

as for you mr TT what do you mean pies

Yes I think the way you phrased it was probably the crux of the problem. A case of meaning something different to what you said.

DGH – who also has a marked pie consumption level. 😀

This being the case, they’d be daft to lift tools…

If someone was paying you a few million to pick up your tools I think you would start!

Sorry to hear about the position now at Cambridge Steve, it all seems a bit fool hardy as it’s not exactly the most active airfield in the world if you ignore GA. Perhaps it’s more aimed at forcing all aviation away so they can put houses on it.

Kemble is always the first thing to go in the diary every year, definatly my favourite airshow. What am I looking forward to? The Blue Diamonds Hunter – HELLFIRE!

Doh! I’ve just checked in here and read this thread. I’ve been wondering all afternoon what it was that was circuling over my house. I’d been thinking Harvard / Yak11 but neither seemed to be right – just sussed it.

Don while I agree with alot of what you have said I do think that taking that position would be a bit of a ‘taking a hammer to crack a nut’ solution. I think there has been a vast improvment over the last few months on the Historic side of the forum and the balance on there is now about right. Occasionally threads still start to wonder of topic into ‘chitter chatter’ but they normally come back on topic pretty quick. The situation on GD is not good at the moment but while the kiddies play over here and leave Historic alone I wont complain. I also dont feel that threads talking about ‘ i’ll informed speculation ‘ should be moderate either as I now from personel experiance that what you read on the web or are told by the media and what is the actual situation are often two completly different things.
