I was planning to go Sunday but they forecast light rain and 19 mph winds on top of Saturdays predictions it’s not looking good. Think it will have to be a last minute descion.

Well, I’d just like to add-as no-one else has-that I’m pleased to hear things are moving forward.
Ive never seen so much carping about getting an aeroplane back into the air.

Thank god! A comment on the original subject. 😀

Almost all work that is paid for by the lottery for new buildings / restorations etc is going to be farmed out to a COMPETENT company. If you don’t like it don’t buy a ticket.

Point taken, but strictly speaking it is silver. The only yellow bit on that particular aircraft is the nose 🙂

Yep, take your point – it’s a fair cop govenour! Perhaps a daylight raid could be arranged with some yellow paint. 😀

I may have spoken to you on the day without knowing it Janie!
I love the yellow/silver scheme on your Chippie, if only someone would re-spray their Hunter in the colours 🙂
    Another photo is below…

What about XJ615 ( XF357 ) owned by Elvington Events and flown out of Cranwell?

    I’ve seen 2 seperate Mig-29 display’s cut short due to a problem.

One was definately a Czech (or was it Hungarian  ) Mig-29 at RIAT some years ago, pretty sure that was engine related…..

I think the last one might have been the occasion when the pilot was instructed to land after coming out of a manovure way to low. 😮

Cruise speed is about 60kts, it stalls at less than 30 – therefore its one of the few aircraft that risks getting birdstrikes from the rear!

    LOL 😀

Seems like a great little aircraft. What’s it like to fly? I guess you would have to go out of your way to hurt yourself in an aircraft that still flies at 31 knots but is it particularly stable in turns etc? Seems a funny looking design but one that kind of grabs your attention. I think as you suggest an articule in Todays Pilot is due. 🙂

If I’m thinking of buying a high energy drink it can ONLY be REDBULL – due to there Sea Vixen sponsorship. An example of how it all works. 🙂

Nice piccie Janie. My work used to take me into there premises on a regular basis years ago when TD248 was there. Not long after they acquired a Hunter. I’ve always hoped that would appear in there showroom one day but unless I’ve just missed it it never has.
