It tastes better with vodka in. Allegedly.

I can confirm that that is true. 😉

It is also very good at work when you need to get something done, 2 cans and your running around like a mad thing making all the calls you need to make and thinking you are invincible.

P.P.S. Do I get any free drinks know 🙂

    No, she’s not coming back…

    🙁 Shame

By the way John C was saying this should have been a poll – just had a quick count up. I make it 22 to 1 in favour with 1 no comment.

Now to Miss Demeanour is she just Beautiful or what?

Awesome is the word! What a paint scheme!

Anybody know if Jonathen is planning to bring her back to Kemble after her annual down at Exeter over the winter?

The cvix is unique – some would say its even more unique now in that awful scheme, but not me. Return its dignity please!

Think it’s got plenty of dignity – A flagship for a major drink producer, admired wherever it goes, center of attention at alot of them and talked about everywhere ( including here ). 😀

I love her and ten out of ten for Red Bull.

P.S. Can I have some free drinks know please 😀

Personally, I’d like to see a formation of the Vixen it its currently non-PC scheme, Miss Demeanour and the Swiss Graffitti Hunter!
    That’d p!ss off a few people! :))

Um, know that would be good – Kemble 2005?

My personal view is that as long as something is still with us it’s still creating history, to suggest that once an aircraft leaves the military it can not be painted in any scheme other than one it’s been painted in before is in my opinon very narrow minded. Some of my earliest airshow memories are of G-FIRE, there was quite a few Spit’s around at the time but that is the one that stick’s in the mind – because it stood out!

I like aeroplanes and I like watching them, the colour doesn’t matter, that is down to personnel taste.

P.S. Just finnished my can of Red Bull !

Fantastic paint job, well done all at Delta Jets. 😀

Just wish I could get over to see it on Saturday ( work 😡 ) – of course you could fly over Cambridge on your way back, it’s only a little bit out of your way, how about a stop over at Duxford for the weekend so we could get a good look on Sunday 😉 😀

Seriously, I’m really looking forward to seeing it next year.

This all started off as a bit of fun about a camp comic, could have been a good thread but ended up as an English lesson. I don’t want one. Does anybody else?

    Well said Hairyplane.

I see no difference between Eddie wanting to fly the Spit and any other low houred pilot. All pilots have to start somewhere. As a seperate question, is the Spitfire really that rare? There are alot of types in this country that are more scarce and if it does crash as long as frame 5 and the makers plate survive it will be rebuilt. Some of the planes that Hairyplane fly’s are much less common and the fun bit is ( for him ) flying them and ( for us ) watching them.

That WACO display must be jaw dropping 😮

They look like the Jetex conversion I tried on an Airfix G91 years ago. 😀

TE308 is about the only flying one over there (unless you want to count MJ772, even though it has its rear cockpit faired over!!)

Probably not then! I hope if he does it he takes a film crew with him – would make good TV.

Why bother with those old prop engines? Stick a man’s engine in it – a jet! Oh they did, they called it the Swift it didn’t work did it.

I think Eddie spends most of his time in the states know. I presume that is were he got his PPL, can I also presume there are some 2 seat Spitfire’s for him to learn on over there?

P.S. I know what they say about presumption being the mother of all f*** up’s!

I did catch the interview on TV purely by chance. Eddie did seem quite serious, as has been said he knew what was required and said he needed to fly 4 more different aircraft before he could get his hands on a Spit. He was about to go into a bit more detail when he was interupted by a certain Mr Clarkson. 🙁

The most bizarre thing I ever tried with a kit was I once built a G-91 kit and attatched a Jetex motor to the bottom of it! I then tied a piece of string to the house and then the other end to the shed at the end of the garden. I fitted 2 hooks to the top of the airframe then hang it over the string I lit the fuse and then…….. nothing 🙁 Guess the friction was just to much for it.

I did the Ren Frew Herc trick myself as well, but with a Meteor F3 – GREAT FUN!
