I don’t think its supposed to be an accurate representation, just a beautiful aircraft saved for us all to see in a nice colour scheme. As an ex-Saudi aircraft she never would have flown with the Firebirds anyway.

Sorry, justs seems to be taking a long time. I don’t mean to knock them either it’s just I’m impacient. Its a big job and I imagine there doing it to a tight budget.

It would be good to get some idea about the Meteor Flight T7 it seems to be a bit like TFC Beaufighter. Does anyone know if the intention is still to paint XL577 in a Blue Diamonds scheme?

If I remeber I’ll ring Thunder City when I get in tonight and ask for an update on XP693 things have gone quiet since they said it would fly back in April

I believe one of the T7’s at Chalgrove has next to no fatigue life left, the other makes welcome static appearances but isn’t really an airshow performer.

Will, as for the Llanbedr ‘drone’ I believe its retirement is imminent. It certainly wont last longer than the station.

As for the different sound, the F8 makes a very loud ‘bluenote’ – much louder than the Hunter. If you haven’t heard it it’s hard to explain.

Whalebone, is that a previous forum meet 😀

Will J, Meteors may not be extinct but there’s only one on the display scene and looks and sounds nothing like an F8.

DGH – I believe the reason for the sale of the Meteor F.8 didn’t relate in any way to the acquisition of the Seafire.

I could be putting two and two together and getting five, but at the time Kennet said they were selling Winston to finance the acquisition of ‘an exciting project’. A couple of weeks after ‘Winston’ departs a Seafire turn’s up.

MarkG, thanks for spotting that I’m not having an argument just curious of which people would rather see, after all isn’t a Seafire a Spit with a hook on the back – know I am ducking expecting many teddies. 😀

Yeah I’m sure thats it, could only see if front on. It looked like a Harvard but the front of the fuselage looks to small for the rest, it kinda has to expand when it gets to the wing section.
