There I was flying around when this tree jumped out in front of me.
Although we all like to think that everything in life revolves around aviation I think the real answer lies with the Atomic Research Agency just down the road at Aldermarston, but ssshhhh…..it doesn’t exist 😉
Sounds good to me! Anybody else out there up for it?
I will be going, it’s always a good show 🙂
Don’t know what time I will be there though as I have to pop into the Bedford vechile gathering at Cambridge first. I’ve never met anyone from this forum yet so if there is going to be a meet it would be good to see some of you.
Good photos, keep’um coming.
Just a quick point though. The RNHF Sea Hawk has appearead at North Weald since. It was during its brief return to the airshow scene ( FighterMeet ’96 ? ), but these pictures definatly weren’t taken then!
Scrapheap Challenge is filmed at a scrapyard in Finchampstead Ridges ( Wokingham kind of area ) so I would guess the airfield would be fairly near by.
1/48th Scimitar – Ummm…nice 😎
If we go a little bit beyond the second world war I’ve always wanted to be able to buy an injection moulded kit of the Hadley Page Hastings. I know there’s a vacuum formed kit but thats about as useful to me as a chocolate fireguard – I’m not that good at kits.
The way I see it,
1. We have all made post’s which on reflection perhaps we wish we haddent.
2. Before making a post think of any consequences that may become of it
3. No one benefits by making rash judgements – that is the job of an enquiry.
4. Never hit your keyboard while adrenalin is still flowing – wait. ( Don’t react, think ).
5. If you see something you think is not right then a forum is not the place to discuss it, contact the CAA or the aircraft operator.
I think it is all to do with the remaining fatigue life, which is not a lot! The aircraft are pretty much restricted to essential flights only. An apperance in the static is a rare event in itself. Having said that I witnessed a PR9 display back in the eighties and it was one of the best displays I’ve ever seen, fantastic.
Ref : The Hunter Canopy
The commentator on Sunday said that a member of the public who had been invitied into the cockpit decided it would be a good idea to pull the emergencey release lever 😡
The manuals they have are in Swiss and so they are trying to figure out how to put it back on.
Thanks Gareth, excellent photo’s.
Anyone got any photo’s of the cabroliet Hunter?
Sheer Magic, two Lightnings in full cry. I recommend it for anyone who hasn’t been.
Now if I can just figure out how to stop the ringing in my ears 😀
Would that be located in Staffs?
How much are they asking? Any idea of the id?
