    Wannabe ,what a super set of piccies well done!Makes you feel like going back there NOW!
    I really did enjoy thoseas we have been to Lanzarote about 5 times and like the place!What hotel did you stay at?It seems a spotters paradise ?We stayed at Hotel La Geria on the Playa de las Poscillos beach,we couldnt fault it food SUPERB only probs were the Germans towels!

    Company freqs are also fun to listen to,I listen when its cloudy and I cant see anything going overhead!
    Got the giggleslast week when a ft deck crew called theirOps and said,Couple of cabin defects rear toilets will not flush,pax in seat 4C has peed the seat,and 9 walkoff wheechairs!!!!!
    Dont hear many big BAs, call in do they do theirs on ACARS?
    Forgot this one We’d like the engineer to meet the aircraft,the Captains chair has broken!!!!!!!

    Wont bother with HF then ill just stay as I am!

    When the world cup was on, one particular ATController was happilygiving out the scoreswhen England were winning one night (he is such a lovely ,happy chappie as well)on this freq 135.05 and 128.42 and a big Speedbird Captain got a bit grouchy back to him ——HE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN FOOTIE AT ALL!!!!!!!
    Do you know the person I mean he says things like “Look to the left ***123 you will see Concorde going Right to Left “etc . His name is Davidand hes fun to listen to especially at night!

    I have a Signal Corp scanner and a Maycom 108 hand held radio.Got the first one off a friend 5 yrs ago 2nd hand and the reception on that is great.The little Maycom 108 was bought from Lowe Electronics and is fine to take on hols— it picked up transmissions from Larnaca tower a treat!
    An aerial in the loft certainly helps reception, my birthday pressie 2 yrs ago was a big white aerial on the roof next to the TV one and that does make a difference.I get the LHR approach (pilots side and atc very faintly) from here but that is not bad for the distance,and the ATC freqs that have an aerial on the IOW I get both sides of conversationwhich is GREAT!!!
    When my elderly scanner goes to ATC in the skies I think i will get the Yupiteru that can get HF as well.Were still thinking about it!

    Thanks Wys had tiny radio on 128.42 in case you sneaked in that way and scanner on 135.05 and heard you arrive over the french coast right to the tower!Think I saw you go round by Willo not to sure!ATC much better last night agreed!!
    Couldnt believe how busy it was Fri nite the poor girl atcwas struggling to cope as it was.Hope you feel bettertoday.
    My scanner is playing up with a horrid buzzing noise when ATC transmit -hubby is ging to take it to bits when he gets in from work and see if he can fixit-listening in on headphones it gives me a big headache!
    Gotta go im late for work

    A330 you lucky sod!We get LGW outbounds on a Seaford dep climbing out, most traffic descending into CDG(-the AF747s are nice to see)on busy days at LGWthe traffic going round the WILLO hold ,sadly not like it was pre 9/11 when all the big planes circled for ages in the morning.Can sometimes see Willo 3C arrivals as well,see these better at night behind the houses over the other side of the road!LHR outbounds to Cape Town Nairobi and J.Burg all go overhead in the late evening just wish they were a bit lower and Nairobi,Seychelles etc still went out of LGW –they used to thunder overhead at nightabout 8000feet !

    I never did put the answer to this ———its Das Air They are a Cargo outfit I think from Uganda and they go in and out of LGW and often rumble over here in their old DC10!
