It works in the AIB household.
I get kicked out for the weekend with the instruction ‘not to come back for at least 9 hours’.
It’s so hard going to all those airshows just to kill time!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 .

Next Year while Mrs AIB struggles with the finer points of Child Psychology, level 2, I think I might kill time at Oshkosh and Old Rhinebeck.

Are you telepathic, Andy in Beds? That is precisely the period when my father served in the RAF aboard HMS Eagle, and his stories encouraged me to join up too, but in 1959, a different era indeed which however I will always consider the best time of my life. He was on the China station, etc., and eventually had to put up with dodging Italian bombers, something I am very glad I missed.

Did he have a camera????
HMS Eagle was sadly lost on the Pedestal convoy to Malta.
I think the Navy had had their money’s worth out of her by then!

Putnams.

Hi all
that kindly gent still has that copy of Miles aircraft on his shelf for £250.00.
He is some sort of nutcase with his prices.
Those that know me know that I’m a bit of a Putnams collector and if his prices are a true reflection of the stuff I’m worth far more than I though but, sadly they’re not. You can half all his prices to get a true value.
A good Miles Aircraft copy should go between £100.00 and 150.00–still a lot for book though. Having said all that the E-bay specialists will push this one through the ceiling I expect.
I wonder if this one is the one that was on ABE-Books a few weeks ago for $175.00.
We’ll see.
If anyone is interested in Putnams a good buy at present would be to pick up the last series they did on the centenary of flight edited by Philip Jarrett.
All these are currently available on remainder at £12..99 each. Buy them for that and put them on the shelves and just wait. More fun than the building society and nice to own too.
