It’s a shame when owners (or their children) get bored with their pets.
Our “Phil” was one such cat, which appeared on our back door step, when his owners chucked
him (and others) out. It was during a cold snowy winter about five years ago, when our previous
cat was on his last legs.

Not long after my parents moved to Norfolk, a chap moved in next to them who worked at Lakenheath.
He worked on maintaining the safety equipment in the F-111 crew capsule. He went up in the aircraft on a
couple of occasions.
He was saying that it really concentrates the mind when you are flying down a valley in Turkey, at 400kts,
600ft, and pilot is sitting with his hands on his knees.

One of the great advantages the F-111 had, was being a side by side two seater.
This has to be a great advantage as regards communication between crew members.

Not something you often see written.

I still haven’t seen any explanation from anyone who confesses to intending voting UKIP exactly what they hope to
achieve in terms of

1) Splitting the vote and possibly allowing labour to get its hands on the economy

2)( Making it pretty certain we won’t get the chance to renegotiate, and then vote on EU membership.

There must be an upside. What is it?

1) I have yet to see evidence that UKIP will only take votes from the Conservatives.

2) Do you really think that Cameron will give us an in/out vote ? He’ll get a few wishy washy concessions,
negotiated between him and Merkle. Tell us what a great job he has done, and that we now have no
reason to leave the EU.

Interested in what you think ~Alan~, what influences mature voters to favour ukip?

If I knew the answer to that, I’d be a politician. 🙂

There was a very interesting piece on the forces channel at the weekend, on this very subject. Showing a team
who go around the country, doing restoration work on graves and memorials. As well as the tasks undertaken
in their workshops.
I’m not sure if the Bombers Memorial comes under their jurisdiction ?

~Alan~ I would include people ranging from 16 and below up to 55 – 60 in the category of manipulated folk. These are people who have feasted on a diet of sky and advertising for many years……………

…………The older ukip voters beyond 60 – 65 and beyond are merely pining for a non existent 1950’s that they are fondly misremembering as they head towards death in my opinion.

You are of course entitles to those views, but I don’t think it applies to the vast majority of “mature” voters.

A protest party like ukip with simplistic, on trend, sound bites as “policies” is of course going to appeal to folk who have been manipulated to believe everything can be instant and they are entitled to get exactly what they want all the time.

That might explain a popularity with the younger voters, but I’m not so sure about the older members of society,
who have seen the major parties come and go over the years. ?

I much admire him for his war service and for this fantastic gesture, good on him. However, on a slightly different track I must ask why and how does the maintenance approximately cost £1000 per week?

I must admit, that was the first thing that crossed my mind. !!

It makes you wonder how much the National Memorial Arboretum must cost to maintain ?

(I am not making a comparison)

Duxford Sunday 1st March:

The American Air Museum is now closed for a year.

I’d still like to know where they are going to put everything ? There’s a lot of aircraft to keep under cover.

I believe UKIP have said they will not do any deals with Labour, but may with the Conservatives. (If indeed it comes to that)

I also believe that at the by-elections, UKIP took votes from Labour as well as the Conservatives.

Although Cameron still comes out with the mantra : That a big vote for the UK Independence Party could lead to a
Labour victory at next year’s general election.
