Something I noticed when they were parked at Southend, and in the pictures above.
They usually leave the bomb doors open when parked. Is this for ventilation, or
maybe taking pressure off hydraulic system ?

Terrible thing to happen.
Although in this instance, the blame was shared, I think we must have all witnessed the risks motorcyclists take ?

From their website:

Saturday September 13 Duxford Air Show – ONLY the Souvenir trailer on site. NO Lancasters today.

Sunday September 14 Duxford Air Show – both Lancasters at 2:40 pm. *Souvenir trailer on site*

I was aware of them being there over the weekend. I just hope they are open for business on the Friday.
I bought a few bits from them at Eastbourne, but you can’t have too much 🙂

I do hope their souvenir trailer will be at Duxford next Friday, prior to the airshow.

I hope they get time to do checks on the other three engines.
Although I’m sure they already have.

Does anyone know the extent of the damage to their engine ?
Was it just the Supercharger, or is there more to it than that ?

A successful engine run at DTVA I hear….well done all.

Thank goodness for that.

“…This mornings engine test of the #4 engine was a success.
The next step is a test flight.
Once a successful test flight is completed the Lancaster will be returning to the BBMF Hangar at RAF Coningsby…”

Apparently an engine run was attempted this evening but the No.4 could not be started.

Only a minor glitch hopefully ?

Interesting to see the young lady wing walker back in the cockpit for landing.
The Utterly Butterly girls always did this at Southend. I have seen some recently where they stay on top
for landing. I would have said that taking a seat is the far safer option ?
