It must be great to have that dream, and you never know, one day he may do it.

This week’s Ice Pilots, on the Discovery Channel, had a very good feature on the Hamilton airshow.
Joe McBryan went up in VRA, in formation with Mosquito, two Spitfires and two Hurricanes.

    Hi Alan,
It seems to be some sort of customer membership. I joined that then payed in donation using the normal Pay-Pal set-up.

I must be doing something wrong then. I have sent some money to their main email address. so it should get
    there one way or another.

Very nice pictures. A nice mix of aircraft too.

The Lancaster looked a bit lonely 🙁

Which method did you use to donate ?

I filled the form in and sent off a donation using a credit card. No problems flagged up, but I got an email back saying there
was a problem, and they have cancelled it. Have tried Paypal, and still get to a page where they ask for card details.
Am waiting to hear from their web guru.

    Latest from CWH

Lancaster Update – With thanks to the many individuals at Durham Tees Valley Airport, work is continuing on the engine swap. The damaged engine has been removed from the aircraft and stripped of all of the components we will need. The BBMF replacement engine is being built up but we are still discovering several small differences between the two which are not show stoppers, but are time consuming. The replacement engine will be hung tomorrow.

Perhaps it is just my imagination regarding something being written on runway,
maybe something has been stored by farmer ?

    Nothing I can see??

    M

Looks like something written in the middle of Hardwick’s runway, with an attempt to paint over it.
Either actually on the runway itself , or as a request to Google Maps.

Smart looking aircraft, although it could do with some gold lettering. Perhaps your name under the canopy, in case you forget
    who you are ? 🙂

Nice sight if you live down that way. I wonder where they will be flying from.
    Fairford maybe ?

Just copy and paste this lot into the search box in Google Maps and it should find it for you

    Moggy

What is written in the middle of the runway ?

Assistance with the conversion is also being provided by Retro Track & Air (UK) Ltd.

I wonder what the conversion entails, anyone know ?

They were west of Southend when they called. Dont know what the
    Formation was comprised of.

Many a true word said in jest.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-28981916

I had to read that twice before I caught the bit at the bottom

Quote…”An airworthy Merlin engine is being shipped from the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre near Skegness and this
will be fitted over the weekend”

    Well done them !!
