Maybe a photo shoot to promote a company offering flights in warbirds ?

One question I must ask, as I find it rather confusing.

How many “Johnny Johnsons ” were there in the RAF during WWII. ? Was the Christian name “Johnny”, automatically applied
to anyone with the surname “Johnson” ?

Great pictures, you are fortunate to get the top surfaces with the sun on them.
I only seem to get the black underside against a dark sky.

If anyone wants to add their own pictures, please go ahead. I have no problem with that whatsoever.

Couple of good pics there Alan, where did you take them from ?

The two of the Lancaster were taken at the Lancaster club, next to where the Vulcan is usually parked. Not a great spot
as there is a high fence. Added to the fact that there were people with kids on their shoulders, wandering backwards and
forwards. The one of the crew was taken through the fence by the old terminal, where the ambulances used to park.
I want to get some decent pictures of them taking off later. So will go to the end of 06 where the raised footpath has a
good view over the top of the fence.

I was trying to keep the shutter speed down to get some prop blur. Only downside of that is, I lost some clarity.

This one was taken from the car park, to the right of the old terminal.

Would I be correct in assuming the the wire going to the port tail fin of VRA is an HF antenna ?

From this afternoon, as they arrived back from Clacton.

Up until they were due in, it had been a lovely day.
Then it clouded right over and we had a spot or two of rain. Thankfully that came to nothing.

For those of us who don’t know what MBCC stands for, and didn’t like to ask.
It’s the Michael Beetham Conservation Centre

    At Cosford

Friday they depart at 13:50 back at 14:15
    Saturday they depart at 13:00.

That’s the lot for us at Southend then 🙁

Heard Carolyn Grace call up Southend on her way back to Duxford. She was invited to do a run down 024,
and I just managed to hear and then see her from our back garden (16:50). Heading north, going back via Wethersfield.

I would have said 14.30ish at Southend.

If they are overhead Marham at 14:00, then displaying at Clacton. They’ll have to go some to get to Southend at 14:30 ?

Unless they are going to land at Southend before they go to Clacton ? I haven’t seen a Clacton timetable yet.
