So going by the above info the BBMF+1 should be at Southend around 3 to 3:30pm ish ?

Once they get here, is there anything else planned for them for Thursday ?
Nothing else on the BBMF website.

Would it be right to assume that there will be a formation flight somewhere between Waddington and Clacton ?
As that’s where they are due to appear. Although the Lancaster might land at Southend first.

There is a kind of a general rule of thumb that says use Aperture control for static shots and shutter control for moving but you really need to use what works best for you. I’m shooting a lot more in manual these days than anything else mainly at f/8, f/5.6 or f/4 depending on which lens I am using and how much depth of field I want from it.

Thanks for the info. I need to experiment more.

Thanks for that Simon, it’s really appreciated. I’m using a Nikon D3300 and Nikkor 55-300 lens, which I only bought a couple
of months ago. Fitted with UV filter, which perhaps I should leave off ?
I did wonder about using either shutter or aperture priority, so that gives me something to experiment with.
I shoot in RAW + JPEG, which covers most options, and usually delete around 60% of what I take.
(how did we ever manage with film ?).
You do have to be careful processing RAW images don’t you ? I’m using Lightroom, and It’s so easy to get carried away
    and over process an image.
On the other hand, you can recover some decent images that would otherwise be consigned to the trash folder.

Nice pictures Simon. The advantage of being at Beachy head, is that you aren’t constantly trying to take
    photos into the sun.

I’d be interested to know what lens , and which settings you mainly use.

    Thanks Simon.

It was my first visit to Eastbourne. It was certainly very busy, and they were blessed with beautiful weather.
I’m still getting the hang of this camera, well trying to anyway !!

I hope nobody objects to me posting these ?

Some of the Volunteers helping to raise funds for the trip. They are doing a great job
I have the T-Shirts and hat to prove it.

One funny thing happened when we went back for a calendar at the end of the flying display.
It was quite noisy, due to various fun fair attractions close by.
I said to one of the chaps “Can I have a calendar please ?” “Yes, we’re from Canada”, he replied.

“No, can I have a calendar please “, “Yes we’re Canadian”, he and his colleague came back with.

No, a CALENDAR, Ah, a calendar, he finally came back with. Must be a language thing 🙂 ?
