Lancs landed back at CBY. Just heard that all flying by them tomorrow is cancelled due to winds.

    Is that a definite ?

Last I heard (when I got back from Eastbourne at 23:30 🙁 ) was:

    Tomorrow (Sunday)

Spit Hurri dep 1140 local, arrive back 1435 local

    DC3 deps 1255 local

    2 Lancs dep 1220 local,arrive back 1435

    BBMF+CWH Lanc dep 1615 local

That’s not what the flying programme says Alan. It shows them operating out of Biggin all day tomorrow, and making a fuel stop at Southend from 14.35 to 16.20 on Sunday only.

I know, but as said before, things seem to be changing on a daily, if not hourly basis.

I expect someone has been going over the fuel burn calculations.

The only worrying thing. Whenever the BBMF come into Southend, one of their aircraft invariably develops a fault.

The above has now been amended to arriving at 14:35, and not 16:30

Finally leaving again at 16:20 Sunday

We’ve watched the first two parts, and apart from the music found it pretty good.
I think the champagne drinking was a deliberately included to show how the upper echelons were removed from the reality
    of trench warfare.
Overall pretty good, as have most of the other recent documentaries on WWI been.

What a lovely sight, shame about the music though.
It’s easy to forget quite how big an aircraft the Gannet is.

I remember many years ago, a chap who worked at Southend airport moved close to the end of runway 024 (the railway end).
Then started a campaign group to complain about the noise.

What is that on top of the wing, in the first picture ?
A bit early for a camera.

Remember the oohs and aahs when Rolf Harris was first mentioned and his vigorous denials? Where indeed might it end? .

Exactly. There have been many allegations made about Cliff Richard over the years, some quite serious.
He says he knew about these , but chose to ignore them, rather than deny or sue anyone.

You wonder (as with Harris) if this might open the flood gates. You never know though, he could be completely innocent.
I wonder what the police thought they might find ? If there were any incriminating evidence, you would have expected that
to be long gone. Especially after the recent court cases.

…………>> after all 90% of the population really have no interest in old aeroplanes.

You’re not kidding !!. The number of people I talk to about two Lancaster flying together, and they couldn’t care less.
Express any sort of interest in aircraft, and a lot of people label you as being an anorak.

Saying that, I was doing a job for one of my elderly female customers the other day, and she was really interested.
Said she’d try to get to Southend airport to see them. Seems her and her late husband used to spend a lot of their time at Old Warden.

Doesn’t it depend on the height they are flying, and whether anyone in the area they are flying has
their computer running the AirNav software.
